This forum is worth its weight in gold ... Ok, so I'm cheap. I know forum's don't have any weight.
Thanks everyone esp. Gary.
Looks like this weekend is going to be kinda crappy for me.
Well, right now I'm in the discovery phase. I don't know exactly what I want or need. I was hoping to hear from others who had security systems.
But, I'm thinking since my boat isn't that large and is only one level, I'd have some kind of sensor inside the cabin that would detect if someone...
Oh, it just dawned on me that my bowl does hold its water and I never hear any hissing.
And, as Alex mentioned, I've been turning off my head so that the vacuum motor doesn't run all the time.
How much Tide? :smt017
And it seems like the consensus is to add it to a full bowl and then flush for 60 seconds.
I just noticed that my vacuum motor is running about every other minute. This is my first boat with a vacu flush head. So, I have an air leak somewhere. Should my first...
Just an update on the LED replacement bulbs I ordered.
The radar arch festoon bulbs are great. I got the one with 6 high power LEDs and they are bright enough to read with. I give this ***
The inside halogen bulbs (I used the MR11 on superbrightleds.com) are very bright and you can read...
Thanks everyone for the feedback.
Thanks fwebster. I thought Firefly was correct, at least as Sea Ray had set her up. I just wanted to confirm what my diver saw.
Also, when I get pulled this winter, I'm going to add prop shaft zincs since that seems to be the consensus here.
My only...
I'm pretty sure I have this right, but thought I would double check here.
My 330 DA should have only 3 zincs; 1 on each trim tab, and 1 hull zinc. Isn't that correct?
I know that a lot of people also recommend putting zincs on the shafts and I'm going to do that at the next haul out, but...
I hear what you are saying about the 2 bucket system. However, being the gadget freak that I am and not having a boat big enough for a real washer, this little hand crank washer seems really cool to me and keep in mind that it's only $43.
Although my wife did say something about it not...
Ha, funny you should say that ... I just made one today. :smt038
I also make those little flashing red lights like you see in cars that mean the security system is activated. And I have one of those on the boat, but ... I'd still sleep better knowing I had a really good lock on that door.
A good lock is a good deterrent. I know there's no way to keep out a determined crook and that's not my intention.
However, that said ... the deadbolt on my house wouldn't keep out a determined crook, but it certainly keeps out the homeless guys who check my door from time to time. I would...
Hey,
I just ordered this cool washer and thought I would pass the information along. Lora and I can't be the only one's who wish they had a washing machine on board.
This little guy gets great reviews and was recently reviewed in one of the boating mags that I get...
All my new LED bulbs just came in so I'm heading off to Firefly after work to install them.
I'll give an update tomorrow. Thanks for all the good advice.
Hey,
Has anyone found a better way to secure their boat. The door locks that come factory installed wouldn't stop anyone. Has anyone figured out a way to lock the main door with a better lock.
I know there's no way to keep out a persistent crook, but a better lock would certainly help...
I'm about to place my order for the MR11 LEDs and thought I would also replace my anchor light bulbs at the same time. Has anyone done that yet? What bulb did you decide to go with? The bulbs I pulled out are a festoon 31mm one facing forward and one facing aft.
And that LED fits the lamps we're talking about?? Even though it's 1.1 inches in diameter. I would think it would be too big.
Is the light output comparable to the halogen bulb it's replacing?
You got me to thinking, maybe I could just replace 2 of them. The 2 we use most often. That'd keep the cost down.
Where did you find the bulb that fits those lights?
I also like the rope light idea.
