I'm a little confused about which way my prop is supposed to go. According to the sticker on my engine it says engine rotation LH But my prop is RH. It's a 97 5.7 with alpha 1 gen 2

So what's the best way to clean this up other than drain and refill? Is there a good fuel and carb cleaner do also dump in the tank?

Saw a video on you tube today exact setup guy was doing 47mph.

I was hitting 30 on flat water , half tank of fuel also changed plugs . I am smelling seams like a lot of fuel during idle. Could be too rich? How do I check geat ratio?

Ok another update, I hooked up a digital tach and my wot is 4000 rpm’s at 30 mph couldn’t get passed that. I also confirmed the 14.5 x 19 prop .So it seams I’m 400 to 800 rpm’s shy. So what’s my next move.

I wasn’t able to confirm what prop I have yet but I did locate a receipt in my paperwork from previous owner for a 17.5 x 19 prop.

Ok I messed around with the tachometer I read on another forum to switch it from 8 cyl back and forth. Now I'm only getting 3800 rpms at 29 mph gps.

I've tried trimming up until cavitation then down a bit . How can I check the HP on the rebuild? So you think they prop is correct?

I just got out this season previous owner had the work done. Unfortunately he died , I got the boat from his wife so she really has no info on how it ran. I have over$12 k in receipts from last 2 years including engine overhaul. The research I did say it should be running that speed.

It's in the water. The issue was since I first put it in so growth wasn't an issue.
