Took a trip 3 hours each way with my 05-420. The smart craft showed the port motor burning more fuel per hr. I was full when I left, filled up upon return so the real numbers of used fuel were 84 gallons for the port, 76 gallons for the stbd + genny running on that tank as well. Genny was on the...
I have no volts to one of my air intake heater. I only have 12v coming in from the power feed to the solenoids. Something is not triggering it to turn on. Any ideas where to look? Are there fuses? Thanks. Cummins 480ce
Possibly buying an 05 420 from a friend with 480ce motors. Boat has 1150 hrs on it, he got it with 1000. The only history I have is a 1000 hr service done by Cummins when he got it 4 years ago. After reading and researching i am a little leary of these motors. Props are original size 22x27, has...
Hello, I am looking to borrow or rent a prop removal tool for 1 1/2 shafts. I don't see to find anything reasonable online. I see those c-clamp stlye ones but they don't go big enough. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am going to be in Brick, NJ Sat. Bent strut, so its all got to...
I am looking into maybe changing props. I have a 2000 340 Sundancer with 454 MPI 310 HP. Right now I went wide open and my max RPM is 4650 and top speed is 30 MPH. This is with just me and over a 1/4, less than 1/2 tank of fuel. Bottom was pretty clean, was a slight head wind. Tabs made no...
Hello,
After getting to the boat (00 340DA) this spring I noticed quite a bit of trans fluid in the bilge. I suspect it can be from this front seal. The strange thing is I topped off the trans and put a pan under there, waited a few hrs but nothing leaked out. I never had a trans leak before...
I Found that the windlass was loose at the top deck of my 340. After further inspection I found that the reason this was the case was due to water intrusion around the windlass and foot switches. I was going over options and decided to tackle this myself and with the help of a buddy of mine. I...

Hello, Just getting ready to put my backend of my genny back together and noticed that the rubber isolators that mount underneath the generator have a whole lot of play back and forth and also up and down. Nothing seems to have excessive play so I am wondering if this is normal to control...

My backend of the 4.5 BCGTC looks like the windings are charred up after some smoke and low voltage. From what I understand Westerbeke no longer sells a backend for this model. Does anyone have ideas on who can rewind this backend? Or somewhere to buy a rebuilt one? Thanks.
