Well, I'm happy to report that we finally have some beautiful, summery weather here in Cleveland. I've made the most of it down at the boat, and tackled a lighting project that I've been eager to do ever since installing my blue underwater transom lights: adding some blue LED cockpit lighting...
Really appreciate all of the responses, fella's.
Found my problem to be a bad connection (lots of corrison) on the negative lead going to my starboard engine battery. I am very thankful for this to have been such an easy fix. I should have caught this when installing the new batteries, but...
The batteries are brand new this season.
Ken - I know the 2 systems are separate. But when on shore-power, the converter should utilize the 110 V shorepower and charge the batteries (which run the 12 V DC system). So ruling out batteries as they are new, I'm guessing that the converter...
When plugged in to shore-power, my breaker shows that I am getting power (the meter reads 110). Outlets and Fridge work without problem. However, when I was down below putting things away, I noticed my cabin lights getting dimmer and dimmer. Went to the helm and tried my nav and cockpit...
I really don't think those will hold up to the harsh, Long Island conditions. As a favor, I'll allow you to send them my way to the much more hospitable Cleveland area for testing. It just so happens that I have a 30' Weekender that will fit them perfectly =)
Seriously, I think there's...
Agreed. I'm guessing with boat (full tank + gear) and trailer, we were pushing 13,000 lbs. The trip to the ramp was a flat, 1/2 mile stretch with one traffic light, so the tranny probably only shifted 2-3 times. We never got over 25 mph. Should have been a breeze for the new 5.0 litre.
Thanks for the compliment! I have three total (two double squares on the outside near each tunnel drive, and one double long in the middle (below the zinc, and above the plug).
Thanks, fellas!
Rick - the UWL's are one of the coolest mods I have done to the boat thus far. Everyone who sees them seems to love them. I did quite a bit of research before buying (after all, holes beneath the waterline are kind of a big deal, and I wanted to make sure I was happy with...
Well, after weeks of cold and rain so far this Spring, we finally got a nice weekend here in Cleveland. As they have been few and far between, I made the most of it and took full advantage of the good weather. Buffed the hull on Friday, installed two new batteries, and other miscellaneous...
Dave, Ken: I've always admired that mod, and would love that on my Weekender. Can I inquire about the process and level of difficulty? Does one need to be a "glass expert" to tackle this?
You could say that again! Here in Cleveland, we've had 40's and 50's with nothing but rain. I think we've had 1 day over 70, a handful of days in the 60's, and very few dry days. I've had enough of the "April Showers"!
I haven't even cracked the shrinkwrap on my Weekender yet. I did...
What a beautiful restoration! Top notch! Congrats to you.
My grandfather has a 25.5 Amberjack (boat that I grew up on), and it is in need of some TLC. I'd love to do half of what you've done to it. Just WOW!
