well, the quick beep and dies when idling in the marina is back. Starts fine, runs great, just when i'm at idle in N or no wake through the harbor, quick "beep" and she dies.
VVM is on order so it will be interesting to see what codes she's throwing. I'll report back with finding in a few...
Could be a couple of things. Take the cover off and inspect. ***before doing this mark each orientation***
Might simply be dirty and need a cleaning. Clean the contacts and pack it with dielectric grease.
If that doesn't do it, based on the age of the boat it could be the wires running up...
My wife like to tell me to leave stuff alone...but i just can't. 2003 220SD with 5.0 MPI 288hrs. Recently changed the following:
Wires and Plugs - Original
Cap and Rotor - Original
Serpentine Belt - Original
Thermostat - Original
IAC - Muffler - Dirty Original
Throttle Plate and Throat -...
Wow...good for you. I've never messed with exhaust manifolds on any piece of equipment i have ever owned. I never plan on trying it. Something about Cast Iron just scares the chit out of me.
I would find it very hard to believe that the aquaweave in a light color gets that much hotter than anything else...but then again, never tried it before.
Those are the same plugs my 2003 called for. They are no longer available. I went with the Iridium plugs from NGK below. Do not mess with the GAP.
Here are the wires.
1 × Sierra 18-8828-1 Wiring Plug Set Replaces 84-863656A1 purchased from Wholesale Marine
Here are the plugs.
NGK Iridium...
Just did wires, plugs and rotor/cap. This is on a 5.0 MPI in a SD. Wasn't fun, can't see shit and plumbing is in the way.
I was able to do the plugs without seeing them. Standard 5/8 socket worked find with an extension. Put them in the socket and you'll be able to thread them all the way...
I sent an email to Corinthian and never heard back from them. I was talking to another member here about weave and he gave me a price. Just wanted to get a price back from them. Do you know if they monitor the site?
Have one and love it. Check for spiderweb cracking in the gelcoat around stress risers like Bimini mounts and windshield. Common in all boats but just make sure they're not too big or deep. Honestly, not much to really check out on them.
if you're interested in putting trim or smart tabs...
Ok, sent a message to @Quint4. You're right...I will do the templates. I do like making them fit to the very edge to keep dirt and leaves out of the cracks. I'll do the templates using my current carpet transferred onto 6mm plastic but will leave it long and custom fit it before sending it...
Looking to get some replacement snap in lux vinyl and heard you are the man. I have a 220 SD, 2003 and I would like to create templates and send them to you. What's the best way to get started and what options do i need to consider for materials and backing ?
Thank you. I did find another thread on the subject. I'm going to weave instead of the glue down eva. I would be far too pissed if it didn't live up to my expectations and i was left with a freaking mess.
couldn't i use my current carpets as templates? they fit perfect or perfect enough for me.
Curious if anyone has done a replacement of the Berber carpet with the vinyl weave products. If so, how do you like it? Also, if you have a source for precut online that would be appreciated as well. Looking for replacement for a 2003 SD 220
But what do I really want. I'd like a manual that explains components and has diagrams. I don't need to know how to use my boat...I need information on what each component in the engine compartment/drive is.
What manual am I after? 2003 SD, Alpha with fuel injection.
