    Sea Ray 185 Newby Questions

I've found the standard seat to be too low and was surprised to find that there appears to be no adjustment. I find the window frame exactly seems to obscure where I would like to see. Let me know what you end up doing and I might follow. Also, what after-market tower did you buy & how much...

    Newbie Getting 185 Sports

Spring here downunder so I finally got round to sorting this out (I think). Someone suggested part filling the bilge with water and seeing where it leaks out. There was a steady drip (about 1 drip/sec) from the flange around the bung-hole, so I took it off, and reseated it with a sealant...

    wandering 185 help please

As a recent new owner of the same model, I found exactly the same thing. Gradually getting used to it though. Dave.

Thanks, I'll give it the once over next time I'm in the water to see if I can see where it's getting in. Dave.

    Newbie Getting 185 Sports

Thanks for all the advice guys. In the end I went for a 2007 Sea Ray 185 with the 4.3L MPI engine, and 27 hours on the clock. I have been out on it a number of times, and I think it will be adequate for us fishing-wise as I'm only a fair weather angler anyway (and I never seem to catch much!)...

    Newbie Getting 185 Sports

Thanks for heads-up. Do you think a 195 would be any better or am I looking at the wrong type of boat?

    Newbie Getting 185 Sports

I am new, not just to boating, but to waterskiing, wakeboarding, and boat fishing, so I'm trying to get opinions from anyone who may have experience with the Sea Ray 185 Sport. I live in Perth, Western Australia. I hope to buy a 2007 model with a 190hp motor within the next few weeks, and have...

    Newbie Say Hello

Thanks for the tip Lazy Daze & sorry for getting your name wrong! I'd like to go larger, but can't really afford the outlay or the room. Still, I intend to seek a bit more advice over in the powerboat section, and if needs must I'll just have stump up somehow.

    Newbie Say Hello

Thanks for the advice Dave. I'll check out the bow seat storage a bit more carefully than I have up to now. As I said, we haven't been looking long, and many of these practical points are only just occuring to me. I can't actually follow your link to the Ram mount at present (might be a...

    Newbie Say Hello

Newbie Says Hello Hi Guys Just introducing myself. I'm Dave from Perth, Western Australia. I'm hoping to buy my first boat shortly, but obviously know very little (I have only been looking for a couple of weeks). My wife is keen on a Bowrider, and we've been homing in on a Sea Ray 185 Sport...
