New to me 215. The way these operate seems opposite as they should. The starboard switch operates the port tab and vice versa. I kind of can see that but ALSO, depressing the top half of the switch lowers the trim tab and pushing the bottom half raises the trim tab. Does yours operate this...

Anyone try JJVs zebra mussel release spray on outdrives ? Wondering if safe to use on aluminum as its sodium hydroxide based. Bad year around here for these.

I know sounds dumb, but…. It’s a 1998 5.7 mercruiser on a 215ec. I thought it was MPI but removing flame arrestor I saw two big butterfly valves in what looks like a big carb. Can these still feed injectors or what am I looking at? I do not see injectors like I do on my 2019 v6 Nissan truck. Thanks

1998 215 EC - Anyone know where depth finder transducer would typically be installed on this boat? There is a transom mounted transducer but I believe it's for the old Humminbird fishfinder. One of manuals I have indicates factory optional Lowrance 3500 would have a thru hull type transducer...

1998 215EC 5.7 Mercuiser 260hp Plastic cover on gas filter seems to have top cover that clips on to the lower cover. Very little room to move these up or down to get off. Has anyone dealt with these? Just want to remove without damaging so I can replace water separating fuel filter. Thanks.

I have a 1998 350 MPI mercruiser on my 215EC. Does this motor have an old school distributor and coil ? If so where is it located? I know this sounds idiotic but it’s not jumping out at me when I’m looking at engine. being fuel injected does not necessarily mean coil on plug right?
