    340 SUNDANCER THREAD

Hello, I'm looking for thoughts and advise again... A very nice day in NY today so off to the boat to do some, what I thought was, simple maintenance work. I went to change the gas filters (both the water Seperator and the in-line) and didn't get too far before I had to stop to ask a...

I'm following up in case it helps anyone... I found the connectors on the rear of the engines, but not the ones pictured above. Not finding anything obvious on the port engine I started looking at the starbaord engine. There I found the purple termination 10 pin cap and was able to then trace...

I'm back looking for thoughts & advise again... I'm looking to install the VesselView 403 in my 2002 340 with 8.1H engines. I have an email from Mercruiser telling me I'm compatible along with a list of the pieces needed for the install. My trouble is in finding the right connector at the...

Sorry for what might be an obvious question, but... There is a circuit breaker in the cabin for "Power Vents". What are the Power Vents? Thanks,

Boatrboy, You have a good eye :) It was, in fact, the tee connection on the heater side had slid out some. But, since I was down there I changed out the tee anyway and placed all 3 clips. At least now I can see that I have a slow drip at the top of my hot water mixing valve. I'll wait and...

So I've since found out that it's a Seatech 15mm tee connector. Seatech isn't around anymore but I did find the fitting at a place called Shore Marine in Seattle... Now the drama is to get in there, replace it, and see if I have other leaks :) More to follow...

I'm looking for some advise and thoughts again... After realizing that my freshwater pump was going on every 10 seconds or so I started looking for a leak... I found it at my hot water heater (picture attached). I looks like the push-to-connect fitting has gone bad. Has anyone on this forum...

I'm looking for suggestions from other 340 8.1 owners :) What is the suggested way down to access A/C inlet strainer - between the hot water heater and the engine or between the 2 engines? I'm not a very large person (5'8 & 160) but I've already failed the test twice this week with climbing...

Knot It, thank you... Having the spent a few hours these past 3 days crawling around the engines I have a newfound respect for anyone that works on the 340s with 8.1s. At one point I was sliding down headfirst between the engines to get a roll of tape that I knocked down to the bottom of the...

Back in the water and connected to electric today! When I switch on the "Outlets" circuit breaker I get the cabin vacuum turning on for a second or two - and then turning off... I switched off the breaker right away concerned that I may have a bad wire somewhere - but now that I'm home and...

Boaterboy, No, please don't but-out :) I'm happy for all of your thoughts/suggestions. Honestly, I was reluctant to do anything for fear of causing more of a problem for myself. Right now, I'm just happy to hear about a method that has worked for the mechanics at the yard. DrPringle...

I'm trying to run some cables between the cabinet behind the couch in the cabin and the helm and I'm running into some trouble. I've tried to run a fiberglass rods from the access panel just starboard of the captain's chair forward into the cabin and I'm hitting something that I can't get past...

dvx216, I want to make certain I understand... Do you mean to attach a power connector (like your pictured one) onto the hatch toggle switch located in the helm station? Seems that would be pretty handy to have available when it is needed... You're a gentleman...
