Thanks for all the encouragement, haha! Summers in Central NY are just too short! But the lakes are absolutely gorgeous.

Thank you very much for your reply! In this pic I now understand where it transitions form the cockpit to actual/real fiberglass hull

    2003 BR 200 Stringer Tub

Hello all! Anyone have any info regarding the extent of the “false floor” in the bilge of a 2003 BR 200? Does the tub insert (hollow area) extend all the way to the transom wall or does it get bonded with the hull before the transom? I notice that midway through the bilge it transitions from...

    Decal removal

Hello fellow boaters! Curious what my 2003 200 BR would look like without decals. Anyone with a similar model remove them and have pics? Thanks in advance!

    2003 BR 200 Transom/stringer construction

Thank you very very much for all your replies! I did notice that sort of unibody construction, which led me to these questions, since I couldn’t find anything that looked like a traditional stringer. Also, I didn’t hire a surveyor to inspect this boat prior to purchase (naive first time boat...

    2003 BR 200 Transom/stringer construction

Maybe too specialized a question, or something I should figure out for myself via more inspection?

    2003 BR 200 Transom/stringer construction

Hello everyone, Trying to get info about the structural components of my boat. The official Sea Ray tech support team responded to my inquiry: “Thank you for your inquiry. The main transom panel is a special treated marine wood material. The main transom panel will extend to each side of the...

    SmartCraft or not

Hello fellow boaters! Sorry if this has been posted a million times before (hard to search past posts on phone). I have a 2003 Sea Ray 200 with a 4.3 MPI. I read somewhere that SmartCraft was only available for the 4.3 starting in 2004. But I also read somewhere that this purple harness...

    Manifolds, risers, and engine temp

Good to know! I think I’ll take a deeper gander at the end of the season. Doesn’t seem too difficult to remove and check the state of these components.

    Manifolds, risers, and engine temp

thanks for your response. The previous owner had the boat professionally serviced every fall. But it seems as if the mechanic only checked things like bellows, belts, fluids, etc, and so previously owner was not sure whether the risers and manifolds were checked as part of routine...

    Manifolds, risers, and engine temp

Hello all! Boat owner for about a month now and interested in your feedback regarding the condition of my exhaust risers (feel like I’m drinking from a fire hose trying to take in all the info about a marine vehicle). I’m waiting for a response from the guy I bought it from regarding his...

    Hull Damage

I’ll definitely caulk the hell out of it, and hopefully prevent water from soaking up that topmost screw hole! Thanks!!!

    Hull Damage

so I guess there is no wood core this low in the transom of this 2003 model. The wood core doesn’t appear to start till 1/2 inch or so above the drain plug (see how the wall thickens). I guess that’s a design feature to keep the wood core away from the lowest point where water is likely to...

    Hull Damage

Found this thread that explains why the area by the drain plug is only fiberglass. Not my model boat, but hopefully the same design was used. Been away on travel for work so haven’t been able to put the plug fitting back on and get out in the water. Can’t wait for this weekend, lol. I just...

    Hull Damage

that’s interesting! If I run my fingers along the inside, I can feel a smooth slope that transitions to a MUCH thicker transom above the drain hole area of transom. It appears the transom below this magic transition line is thinner. Thanks for all the replies folks! Lots of information to consider!

    Hull Damage

Only the lowest screw hole was weeping because it was draining water from the bilge (the damn screws punched all the way through that part is the transom). The other screw holes were dry as a whistle.
