I’ve just had an alarm for 0psi with good water output on my STB engine after having replaced the sensor last year with a cheap Chinese one. I see Mercury have since upgraded the design of the sensor and it is up & running beautifully again. Lesson learned buy cheap get trouble! Never again will...
Hi and thank you for your prompt response I do appreciate it. The culprit turned out to be the pressure relief valve on the hot water tank venting thru the thru hull drain. It was an Attwood 6 gallon factory heater. I have exercised it and put some WD40 silicone into it and the leak has...
Wondering if someone can help please I have a 2008 DA38 and the fresh water pump keeps cycling every 5 seconds. I notice water continuously seeping out of the thru hull vent on the PORT side. It’s midship just under the vent port. It’s the aft thru hull out drain of the 3 that are located there...
The CSR site has always been great for me for years but the past two days it’s almost unusable! The page loads take an eternity and I’ve tried every browser and pc or Mac iPad or iPhone it’s just so slow it’s unbelievable? What’s happened to the site? New servers ? Somethings off about data...
Hi. Purchased a new blower fan from Amazon it was the same aw the factory one. Took the freezer & microwave out and got in thru the gap. Replaced unit in 30 minutes. Total cost $80. Works a treat now.
After your post I had a closer look and it seems the wires were damaged probably by the mechanics who were working in the engine bays for the past 8 days. They seem to be fused together. There is a small vertical incision midway binding both the terminals!
Thanks for sharing this. I have recently had both engines serviced by Mercury dealership and both the impellers were changed. The intakes were clear as it was out of the water and cleaned although I didn’t look inside the pipe! I’m thinking a good blast for a couple of hours might clear up the...
I agree with you and that in my humble opinion it is going north. They used to be perfectly matched always? I did however notice that the STB engine has a steam like mist coming out of the exhaust. I’ve checked the oils and they are 100% clean.
I was wondering if my starboard engine water pressure is normal. It’s always about 10 psi higher than the port engine? No alarms no obvious issues or reasons but I’m just curious if anyone else has this issue? I have included a photo I took today from my Vessel View.
Thank you for your prompt response! I will have to get a new float switch and pump. Those two pumps at the aft look huge and different from the usual ones. I am guessing that is because they are high volume units. Another couple of hundred bucks then !
My aft bilge pump is not responding to commands from the helm or by manual activation of the float. The dash light remains on and the breaker does not trip. I have had to switch it off from the main DC breaker panel. So in either position the helm switch light remains on. It’s bizarre & it’s...
My 7.3 ECD runs at 195-197 at all times regardless of any load conditions. This is the normal operating temperature of this unit. It’s higher because it keeps the emissions lower. My unit is 40 hours old so it is brand new and works perfectly.
I’m still confused because the seat is on tracks. Any chance you could post a photo for me to visually see please? On my DA38 there seems no way to lift the aft couch lower half it’s all slotted together to open up into a bed?
