Dave, Im just curious...you would really accept this kind of service? I guess the question would be do you accept it in other parts of your life, and if its not acceptable there from vendors, why would it be acceptable here...just because its a boat?

The issue you may have with you idea of combining is not enough hose, I built the brass assembly and had the yard put it in/helped and it was not only a tight fit, we even had to move the battery mounts, but the length and bend radii of hoses is a consideration...u have room for one, prob not...

I built and installed on of these on my 260da when I had it and I have some feedback on this issue...i went with the brass 3 valve unit... 1. It was great for flushing both the engine AND the lower unit...simply shut the valve to the engine, open the hose inlet and lower unit valve and turn...

The key is not to run any of these systems without the engine running in the muffs situation you are farther from the engine seals, etc...but in the case of a flushing unit they are generally installed pretty close to the engine and thus there is a risk, but then there is also a risk in boating...

I built this myself (Quickflush) when I had my searay and had the marina put it in, worked great...not something you really need to purchase....one word of caution the valves you may need to either order or get from a plumbing shop...west marine and boatersword dont carry the size valves needed...

Who would you recommend as the best source for Perkins parts?...btw you guys where right on mark....the ole girl started up immediately despite having been sitting on the hard for 3 yrs

This one I believe may have been rebuilt, she only has 1900 hours on the perkins...the lead mechanic at the marina was trying to convince me to repower but I cant see it with only 1900 hours...seems like a complete waste of money, and the 85 horser is enough to get 12 knots.

Well I bought a 46 foot motorsailor, a Dufour...the engine is the Perkins 4236...u have probably come across the same engine in tractors, 85 hp. The group here is so knowledgeable, and has been so friendly that Ive continued to participate...good groups of people are hard to find.
