Well, as the boating season is quickly approaching for us on Cape Cod (hopefully the weather will permit, unlike last Spring), we are thinking up some cool, new trips.
Does anyone have any experience going from Cape Cod (or Boston) to New York City? Is this somewhat outrageous, or does it...
Just went over to the boatyard, expecting Legal Limit to still be shrink-wrapped. Pleasantly surprised to see it has been bottom-painted and detailed for our April 1 launch date. Looks like we might even be in sooner than that!
Very excited, and looking forward to some great boating!
Hope...
Does anyone in New England do any winter boating?
Our 270 SLX would not be ideal for this, but at the boat show we saw a pretty nice looking little Ranger R21 from Ranger Tugs.
Thought it would be a neat idea to putt around in during the winter, since New England is such a beautiful...
Getting anxious to get back on the boat! Hoping for an early April launch. Any Cape Cod (or Boston) boaters planning any trips?
We haven't ventured too far with Legal Limit yet, but would love to get to Newport and Mystic at some point. We're not too sure if this would be too big of a trip...

Just came across this. Looks nasty.
How in the world is this boat salvageable?!
The description tells a bit about a fire on a neighboring boat that has spread to this DB, but it makes it seem like the engine room...
Hello all,
I am actually just a high school student. Although, I am the Captain of LEGAL LIMIT nearly 100% of the time, the boat belongs to my parents . I have been boating since 10 years old, and currently have my Boaters' License.
Anyway - We keep Legal Limit at a local...
I wonder if this will be worth staying up for. Any input?

Bummer that it's getting chilly and the boat's out of the water. It's nights like these that make you wish boating year-round boating in New England was possible, or remotely common. :smt009
Oh well, the scenery is still nice from land.
I took these shots of the bay on November 1st.
Will be in the area around Thanksgiving.
Looking for a place to rent a boat for the day ... Sea Ray would be nice, but anything would work. Just looking for a good, easy place to deal with. Boats should be reasonably sized (preferably ~22-30 feet).
Thanks in advance.
Well, on September 24th, we were hauled out to make some minor gear teeth repairs to the outdrive. This process was supposed to be done in a few days. Here we are on October 17th, and the boat is sitting in the parking lot with no repairs made to the outdrive. Usually, the fall is the nicest...
Alright, I thought it would be neat to have a collection of recent yacht photos. I am always amazed by the size of these things, so I usually pull my camera out and start taking pictures! I've only imagined what they look like inside.
I know the boating season is (almost) over for us in...
Just a consideration... Possibly interested in looking at a jet ski to purchase for next summer. I'm not interested if you are selling yours... just looking for some insight. Pictures of yours? Top speeds? Good quality brands? I like Sea Doo's new lineup.. but does anyone have opinions as to the...
Something with the drive unit is causing it click very loudly when in gear. In neutral, there's no clicking. Could something with the counter-rotation of the props be wrong? It sounds like the prop(s) is hitting something ... but when we got back to the dock, I raised the engine and could not...
I think it's a great idea to share recent boating photos with other users! So many great areas - share some recent pictures with us!
Here are some shots from today. Today was a great boating day! This is Vineyard Sound and a small inlet in Menemsha, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.
Went to Martha's Vineyard for dinner. It was just a normal night on the island... until we were ready to come home. We tried to strategically leave before dark (around 7:30pm).
Untied the lines, left the dock, and we were underway. Just got past the breakwater, ready to accelerate to get out...
Sometimes you just want to hear the engine, but there are plenty of times when you enjoy listening to music while cruising.
Now, what are your favorite boating "songs" of all time.
All you New Englanders, let's find Obama on the Vineyard! The search begins August 23rd! With any luck, we'll get a glimpse of him and his entourage.
Hey everyone,
We got our pictures taken today by BoatPix in a helicopter. Hopefully they got some pretty good shots, as we were going about 35-40 mph
Has anyone gotten shots from them? Could you post them? Just wondering how they'll come out... they should arrive in 2-3 weeks, and...
Has anyone done this trip before?
I'm hoping it will be an easy trip; but I just thought I'd check with any of you. I have a 2009 Sea Ray 270 SLX.
Heading over tomorrow morning, so any replies tonight would be greatly appreciated. It looks like it'll be flat waters until I hit the open...
