There's water system switch at the helm for running on battery but I'm not sure what switch to use when on shore power. Here's a photo for the electric panel. Which one turns on the water?
I had a 10,000 BTU SeaBreeze AC/Heating unit installed on my 1996 250 Sundancer. I attached photos but they may be too big. If so, shoot me an email and I'll send them to you.
Our boat typically cranked for awhile before starting, particularly if it has been sitting for long. We had a starting problem with our Jaguar XK8 recently and the mechanic suggested we add a can of SeaFoam to the gas tank. It solved the problem. So I thought it was worth a shot in the boat. We...
Given that the Dominican Republic shares the island with Haiti, there is one change you need to make before you make this trip. Trade your 330 in on a destroyer.
The lift became a necessity. Galvanic corrosion was going after the outdrive and I was going through zincs too quickly. I found a guy who sells and installs used lifts and got a three year old 10000 pounder for $4500 installed. I figure that's cheaper than a new outdrive and I no longer need a...
Right now we're at low tide and the depth is roughly 33 inches. The rails of the lift are going to take up 10-12 I think. I guess it could be a little dicey at low tide.
Marina just called. One of the batteries was dead and they replaced it. I asked about the trim motor and they said it was fine. It was hooked up to the bad battery and that's why it wouldn't work. Go figure.
It seems the solenoid is about $30. I found the entire motor on ebay for $219.95. I'm thinking it makes more sense to replace the whole thing rather than just replacing the solenoid on a 14 year old motor.
Fluid was down so I added a little over a tube of trim fluid (about 13 ounces). Then I started the boat and tried the trim and even hit the trailer button. No movement and the sound is very much like when you try to start a car when the battery is too low. Just a lot of clicking.
Wow, Fluid. I should have checked that first. I'll look in the morning and report back. I know in the forward section of the motor, there's oil, drive oil and coolant. If I remember right, there's another fluid reservoir on the starboard side rear. That might be the one for the trim fluid...by...
Went out in the boat this afternoon and when I hit the button to trim the drive, nothing. I could here an electric motor sound but the drive did not move. Tried the trailer button, same thing... sound but no movement. anybody got a clue what's happening here?
Took bent key and ignition switch to a locksmith. As it turns out, the bent key is not for the ignition at all. It's just for the hatch to the cabin. He made a new one from thebent one and it works perfectly. Then I went back home and found the ignition key on another key ring. It works fine...
