    Official 240 Sundancer Thread

I had to go back and read it again also since, unless he is running with an inverter, the AC outlets will only run if he is plugged into shore power or is running a genny. Thanks for cleaning that up!

    Official 240 Sundancer Thread

For the outlets, I'd focus on the fuses now. Reminds me of an issue I had earlier this year where everything 12v was working fine and then I lost the cabin lights. Nothing else...just the cabin lights. In my case, the fuse was fine and they still weren't working. I was getting frustrated so...

    2003 240 DA A/C Question

Now that I can see the entire unit, I was able to locate the drain that was connected on the back of the unit. Thanks for the reply!

    2003 240 DA A/C Question

Ok, well, I am making progress. The starboard side of the aft cabin (where the return vent is located) just pulls out. It's a pretty tight fit, but no screws or anything. Just gave it a good tug and I saw the wall come toward me. Now I have complete access to the compressor, which does kick...

    Official 240 Sundancer Thread

It's good seeing this forum back as I also have a 240. Maybe we can get more 240 specific stuff on here. I'll speak more to the the 12v question....the easiest thing to check first is to make sure that the battery selector switch is not turned off. Even if on shore power, one of the batteries...

    2003 240 DA A/C Question

Some other questions about this setup also. As you can see from the pics, this unit is behind the wall of the aft cabin and is tucked a good foot to foot and a half toward the stern of the boat. All of the connections for this unit are on the back, so how would one even access that area to...

    2003 240 DA A/C Question

Thanks for your replies. That was my thought on the unit as well given its age, but was just trying to make sure that the setup was right before doing anything. No manuals of any kind came with the boat when purchased, so I'm not even sure of the manufacturer. I think that CruisAir made them...

    2003 240 DA A/C Question

We have really been enjoying the, new to us, 2003 Sundancer 240DA. I've been knocking off some small items and now that the temps are rising, I decided to start looking at the AC. The seacock is open, breaker on and when powered up, the fan blows nice and hard and the pump does pump a good bit...

    A/C Pump Replacement

Thanks for the help everyone. I have learned a lot since this is my 1st boat with A/C. One thing I have also learned is how everything needs to be going uphill from the seacock to the thru hull. When the pump came loose from the mount, supported only by the hoses, the the run from the...

    A/C Pump Replacement

I think you are exactly right. It does appear to be a Cal Pump and would explain the mounting bracket that it looks like it was once attached to. That mounting bracket is listed by them as a universal mounting bracket. I had been trying to search by, what appears to be, the model number on...

    A/C Pump Replacement

I am working off a list of things that were found during my survey prior to purchasing and one of the items found was a non supported and incorrect water pump for the A/C. Surveyor said that it looked to be a regular household type pump and needed to be replaced with a proper marine grade pump...

    Fuel Sender Question

Thank you for the additional information. Making it to the boat this weekend and I will see what is going on with the sender. I'll also read up on the reed types in case the sender does need to be replaced.

    Fuel Sender Question

Forgive my ignorance here, but what are you referring to when you mention the new reed type? And for the depth, that is from the bottom to the lip of the opening minus 1"?

    Fuel Sender Question

Just took possession of my 2003 Sundancer 240. It has the 5.0 MPI with a Bravo III drive. Anyway, I knew going in that the fuel gauge did not work (pegs to full when the ignition is turned on). The PO had already purchased a new fuel gauge but had not yet installed it, but he had not yet...

New Member - Wanted to say Hello

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. The sea trial and survey went very well and I am hoping that the boat closes in the next day or two. Nothing huge in the survey, but it looks like the marina that did some A/C work on the boat used a regular household pump in the bilge, and looks like it...

New Member - Wanted to say Hello

As much as I would love to, I'm going to wait until I own the boat before posting any pics. I'm buying from a private seller and don't want to post pics of his boat. Now, if everything goes well tomorrow and the boat closes....game on! Plus, I'll jinx myself and the boat will break in half...

New Member - Wanted to say Hello

Well after being off the the water for several years, the wife and I are now ready to get back out on the water. My 1st boat was an '88 Bayliner 19' CC which did its job on getting me out on the water, learning the rules of the road and what not and moved up to an older '85 Sea Ray 23' Cuddy...
