    Head scratcher.....Both Engines Down - 7.4 MPI's

Relay Switches? My boat had instances when it would turn over and not start. Tuned out to be relay switches. They were actually bad on both engines.

How big of wake is considered 'No Wake'?

I have decided to live with the situation but must say I'm surprised people do not understand how to manuever a boat by steering with the engines. This is the proper way to control a big boat with dual engines at slow speed. You shouldn't need the steering wheel. This is different in wind or...

How big of wake is considered 'No Wake'?

AON your right people need to get ovet the hang up of putting the boat in and out of gear. I do it all the time and have for 20 years. I was taught to steer the boat at slow speed by engaging one engine or the other.

How big of wake is considered 'No Wake'?

GFC your wake is fine! If everyone just did this I wouldn't be asking the question!

How big of wake is considered 'No Wake'?

I guess I'm realizing my best option is to just live with things as they are and realize some people are going to make a wake bigger than I am happy with. I really don't want to be the 'Wake Police'. It also sounds like people are able to justify the wake they make so I'm not going to change...

How big of wake is considered 'No Wake'?

So it's ok for some boats to make a wake? Why have a standard at all?

How big of wake is considered 'No Wake'?

Thanks Henry that's my thought exactly. If there are heavy winds or current i could buy the argument of 'Can't Go Slow Enough', but in normal conditions that argument just doesn't cut it!

How big of wake is considered 'No Wake'?

Just moved my boat to a dock next to my house on a channel. This is a 'No Wake' zone but it seems to me the boats going by don't understand the concept of No Wake. To me if the wake rocks my boat and my dock more than a ripple it's too much. Thoughts?

    Coolant Resevoir Keeps Filling Up.

The boat is fixed! i replaced the coolant circulating pump(water pump) and all is well. I wrote an email to the manufacturer of the pump to ask if it was possible the pump was sucking air without leaking and they responded it was absolutely possible. So it appears that was my problem.

    Coolant Resevoir Keeps Filling Up.

Thanks John! I really appreciate the input. My mechanic is coming out next week to do the clear hose thing and replace the pump. I decided to go ahead and replace the pump then do the clear hose test if the pump doesn't fix the problem. I agree it is an educated guess and may be a waste of...

    Coolant Resevoir Keeps Filling Up.

Thanks everyone for time you have taken to think things over and respond. Couple things: The left manifold that gets hot is brand new as is the hoses going to and from the manifold. We checked all fitting and the path to the manifold since I was also convinced that was the source of the...

    Coolant Resevoir Keeps Filling Up.

John, Thanks for jumping in! I tested the pressure with one of those guages you attach in place of the radiator cap. The cap is rated for 7 pounds so I pumped just past 7. I left it there for awhile and nothing happened. I started the engine with it on and still nothing happened, pressure...

    Coolant Resevoir Keeps Filling Up.

The boat has never overheated. The amount of fluid that gets pushed into the resevoir and the bubbling is not the normal function of the overflow res. I have posted a video on a previous post if you want to see it. There is also a foaming of the fluid when this happens. When compared to the...

    Coolant Resevoir Keeps Filling Up.

Problem is not fixed! After changing the manifolds and elbows on both sides I still get air bubble in the coolant resevoir. So far I have changed the heads, manifolds, elbows, thermostat, hoses, radiator cap, impellar. The other day I switch the heat exchanger from one boat to the other to...

    Coolant Resevoir Keeps Filling Up.

I tested the air in the resevoir with one of those test kits that test for combustion gas. It proved to be negative. While the engine was running @ 3400 rpm I went below with an IR Heat gun and checked every part of both engine I could get a read on. everything on both engines was around 160...

I have switched caps and done a pressure test. If I have a cracked block does that mean new engine?

    Coolant Resevoir Keeps Filling Up.

I had another compression test done with the following results; 1-160,2-150,3-150,4-150,6-150,7-150,8-160,5-140. This doesn't look right to me, have I been ripped off?
