I know this isn't too close to you, but there is a place in Clear lake that custom builds fishing towers and from what I've heard wakeboard towers. They may be able to supply you with the gasket material. You may have to use the attachment points as a template. The place is called Tops and...
This is great. I can't wait to pick some up and get them installed. I've been a bit busy lately, but hopefully this weekend I'll get them on as well. TexA&M, any pics of the install? Where are ya'll mounting the caps? I'm assuming near the backside of the shifter?
Ok, now I'm getting a bit confused. So, my components aren't or shouldn't be grounded to the batteries, but rather a single grounding plate/bus? If tha is the case, how am I going to seperate the pump ground from the amp/stereo ground?
I'll do that. I'll even try to snap some instal pics.
The guard is a 7' Keelshield. The color is white. It looks like its not a snow white, so hopefully it blends in well with the off-white gelcoat.
I've had this problem from the time I bought it(used). When I hit the trim switch my speakers will make a little "pop". It just does it the moment I hit the switch. This seems to bother the wife more than myself, but in any case I was going to see if I could eliminate it this weekend while...
I do the same thing. We beach on a sandy edge of a river. The location is a no wake zone, so there are USUALLY no wakes to deal and with the skeg in the sand the stern doesn't drift. The wife got me a keel guard for my b-day. I'm planning on putting that on this weekend.
I guess the important question to ask is: Is it posible the cracks have always been there and he just noticed or is he certain that they started to form on the last trip out (or last wash)?
I think that it would be pretty tough to stress the boat out enough to crack it just by wakeboarding...
The good thing is my buddy just bought a 185, so I can get some placement measurements from his boat.
I've got a buddy with a roto-zip, so I'm good there. And yes, that first cut is going to be nerve racking... no guts, no glory!
Thanks
I purchased a couple of 6 1/2" speakers for the bow. My 185 didn't come with any, so I'm going to have to cut the holes out. What should I use to make the cuts? Any imput/techniques/warnings?
Thanks,
Jake
Check the top edge of the tower (front and rear) for damage. The previous owner may have ran into or backed into something. I doubt pulling a skier would do that.
I'm not sure if it is designed the same as mine, but the big knobs are the allen screws. You will remove the knob screws. This will allow the rear support leg to fold forward and the tower to lay back. Be sure to have somebody help or have a good grip, its heavier than it looks. I hope this...
