I'm hoping to get on a similar sized bridge boat and bribe a captain for a short sea trial to observe (not operate) the difference. The cave thing is my motivator. Thanks for the responses so far everyone.
I know it's not exactly the right boat on this thread but close. I'm interested in comments about going from a 2005 390 dancer to a 2008 47 sedan bridge. I know the obvious differences in sway up high in rough seas and some docking visibility differences but would love to see comments...
I can only add that I have this combination and have no complaints pertaining to the power / range / efficiency (can you use that term pertaining to boating?). If you'd like details happy to answer questions.
Lots of attendees but not sure how many buyers according to the sales brokers I spoke to. I was smitten with the Tiera 50 Coupe but not so much the $1.6M price tag. Still fun to look.......
Thanks Frank......since I also have a weeping rudder post I guess a haul out and both shaft seals and rudder post seals replaced on a 9 year old boat is the prudent move.
Can anyone tell me if I have to have my boat hauled out to service / replace a leaking shaft seal? I have Cummins v-Drives and the starboard engine is dripping about a drop a second while stationary at the dock. Or can it be done while in the water?
Thanks!!
Cool pics and thanks for sharing. Clearly these folks are spoiled in terms of access to boat components when the boat is in the build stage. A little different accessing some things AFTER the build! LOL. Thinking of the fun I have cleaning the A/C filter in my salon unit as I contort my body...
Does anyone know where you can get the lounge chairs I see some use on their foredecks that have the adjustable back support? Not having any luck in my internet searches.......thanks!
Thanks everyone......I like the idea of powering through the helm 12v outlet. Also I now realize on my 390DA I have an access hatch next to the main engine hatch that is directly over the batteries so I could remove that and jump power directly to the batteries from a jump box to power the...
You do not say the year boat you are considering so I will speak to my experience. My 2005 390DA (same boat as a 400DA essentially) is diesel and when I bought it I didn't consider gas. I run 100 hours a year and plan to keep it quite some time so wanted the durability and life span of...
Seems like another good reason to pay off the mortgage. I live on an inland FL lake that is in a 100 year flood plane but the lake level is controlled by the corps of engineers so flooding is unlikely. It's the lender requiring the flood insurance.
I think if I had a leak it would be evident somewhere. I'm thinking pressure regulator, assuming it has one. Probably buried by the tank forward of the bulkhead.
My 390 DA now has very low pressure when connected to dock water. When on on board system with pump pressure is good but pump won't shut off. Maybe two separate issues? So far I have:
Checked screen on water connection from dock. It was clean.
Checked end filter screen on pump inlet side. It...
Interesting - I'll be looking to see if anyone has any experience with these. I'm looking for a solution to haul my inflatable and haven't seen anything I care for yet.
