It will fit just fine. I just looked at a 2000 AJ on yachtworld and it is the same as our 2004 290AJ. The top replaces the Rear drop curtain. Each side even has screens incorporated in the sides.. No joke..It was surprisingly easy to put on the boat. Let me know if you have any more questions..
