How to refurbish the Gelcoat after removing graphics?

This knock off of Slimy-grimy seems to be the least-expensive way to get lake stains off a boat hull. Spray on and watch the stains disappear... A little goes a long way: https://tinyurl.com/3j7ervc3 $20 for 5 gallons... !

How to refurbish the Gelcoat after removing graphics?

Thanks everyone. I spray Slimy-Grimy on the hull to get the brown stains to magically disappear in about three seconds. It’s amazing stuff! But the brown comes back quick as it sits in the lake (…within days). I was at least hoping to get the gel coat to an even depth so it wouldn’t discolor...

How to refurbish the Gelcoat after removing graphics?

I removed most of the vinyl graphics from my '98 185BR, but the lake stains the gelcoat at a different rate where the graphics used to be. Look closely at this pic and you can see the 'wave' graphics near the 185 logo: Does anyone have any tips on how to refurbish the gelcoat? I have an...

    Kill Switch/Lanyard

Thanks for sharing. I have the one in your bottom picture, with the closed loop - and the darned closed loop section doesn't allow the switch to stay all the way up in the On position. It's the most frustrating thing, as sometimes it just doesn't start - and inevitably it turns out to be this...

180 Bow Rider Thread... Questions & Answers or just chat!

Good looking, Jonny! Can you share your 2nd battery setup? I bought the Add-a-Battery-Mini kit and need to buy the accessories (fuses etc) to start wiring it up. Any tips or tricks you can offer me would be greatly appreciated!

What's the best Sea Ray bowrider? (model / year)

Thanks Jim. Appreciate the picture, too. Interesting enough, that layout looks just like the '07 220 Select, except for the passenger seat arrangement on yours. What boat did you run prior to this one?

What's the best Sea Ray bowrider? (model / year)

I'm a '98 185BR owner but have my sights set on a 2007-ish 220 Select. It seems to have the best layout, features and luxury accommodations for my trailering habits. Anyone have other thoughts or experiences?

    Trailer rims and tires

Good suggestions above. I just bought from Home Depot. Free shipping, great price, and tire-on-wheel was all up my alley. Replaced both tires on my '01 trailer this past summer this way. Took one of the extras and am using it as a spare now.

Yeah, common mistake. You searched with the letter O instead of the number 0 in the beginning of your serial number. Try again! It works for your serial #: 0C762406

Enter the serial number of your engine into this tool & it will give you the electronic version of the service manual. Works for the lower unit too. Also tells you the part number of the service manual itself so you can buy the right one on eBay (which I've done / love it)...

    1999 Sea Ray 190S BR

Could be the ignition switch... But as the original poster said, it's not the starter. It was more like the battery was completely disconnected from the boat electronics for a second. Nothing happened at all when turning the key... Definitely something to play with now that the boat's back on...

    1999 SEA RAY 210 - Modifcations

Just did a bunch of the same research after buying my 185BR last fall... The #1 response I got from folks who had an aftermarket swim platform installed was "it was the best thing we've ever added onto our boat." So I added one myself (along with every other type of add-on you can think of...

    1999 Sea Ray 190S BR

Funny you say that... I have a '98 185BR w/4.3L that did the same thing last Thursday night when I took it back out onto the lake with my wife. We putt-putted out of the shallows from the dock into the lake and I stalled. I turned the key to engage the starter and got nothing. Turned it to the...

    Departure Check List

I never tighten my drain plug with a wrench. It's brass and screws in with about 3 full rotations, but as soon as I feel resistance, I stop. Sometimes I even back it out about 5 degrees if I feel I've tightened it too much. I've never had so much as a drop of water enter my bilge, and have...

    who Backs into the slip?

Ha! No, sorry - I wasn't being clear. Tying up the boat on a dock overnight - especially during inclement weather - tends to cause me to lose a little sleep, as I worry about how securely it's moored. So backing in the boat, and keeping the swim platform away from the big waves that can wash...

    Underpropping is good!!

By the way, the 19-pitch prop is a winner! Great acceleration, very good control of low & mid-speed cruising, and it runs within spec at WOT (e.g., 4600-4800RPMs). The 21P was a bit too slow to get up to speed, and definitely went too fast for my liking at cruising RPMS and WOT. The 17P I had on...
