    4 blade prop?

With the way i seem to drive my 185 sport - I'm sticking to the cheap Al 3-blade props.. :-) If i had a stainless prop, I'd be rebuilding outdrives instead of repairing props.. :-) A prop change I can do in the middle of the lake... That said, on the pitch front, I've got 14x17, 19, and 21...

    White face guages

Turns out they will be able to get me the gauge. $45, with a 3 week lead time - that'll do for me at least. I did think about the black-out insert, but the glass seems like it's bonded to the SS - just didn't want to mess with it if an original was available - which it turns out, will be.

    White face guages

Well, not so much luck there. They ARE teleflex driftwood guages, but sea ray had them custom made with the chrome bezel. Teleflex directed me to sea ray for the part. Anyone got a good source of official sea ray parts?

    White face guages

Some research online and it LOOKS like they are the Teleflex Driftwood series guages. however, I can't seem to find anything in that line with the chrome bezel...

    White face guages

I'm looking to add a battery meter to my '05 185 Sport. It has the factory guages in it, with a single small spot empty in the center. The guages are black lettering on white face, with a white needle, and chrome bezel. Has anyone seen a source for these guages?

    Bilge Plug

Anyone got a source online for a drain plug WITH the oil change lanyard on it? Mine has vanished - I've got a replacement plug in there for now, but need to get a new one with the lanyard for when I change the oil next. Haven't had any luck with my googling to this point.

    The most useless boat...

Yeah, I actually agree, it is pretty impressive - i just think it's really funny, and I can't imagine I would even get all that upset if I pulled up alongside... The pictures of it moored in the marina are pretty cool too.

Battery charger not charging. Need troubleshooting help.

well, really, any charger is going to 'boil' the water from the batteries... if it isn't, its not getting to full voltage (and it's not boiling, it's electrolysis - splitting the water to hydrogen and oxygen... its the reason battery compatments ahve to be ventelated, or use sealed batteries)...

best place to put shore power inlet plug in a 215 ec

Do you moor in a slip, providing access to the bow? if so, you may be able to put it in the anchor well (it could then have the cable neatly coming out the rope-hole of the cover). Would certainly clean things up a bit. It could be far enough along the port or starbord sides to avoid...

Battle of the Bilge on the 240SD

You could go with the thru-hull drain idea, and add a quick turn valve in the line, so you can drain it daily or whenever you replenish the ice. You could really get creative and remove the 'installed' cooler, and see if one of the 12 volt peltier based coolers would fit in there.. cold beer...

Install a hole under bow cushion??

I keep mine in the anchor compartment - so glad I bought a used 05 instead of a new 06 a few years ago. I will never understand Sea Ray's model change in the 185... The 2006 and on redesign was horrible in so many ways (storage, cockpit space, etc)

    A strange mystery

Well, if you think about it, it didn't affect the sale value for the last guy who bought it... just saying.

    Adding an additional battery

I'm probably going to be installing a 2nd battery here soon, and have determined that if I truly want to split out my running and house loads, I'm going to need to add a second fuse block. Running loads (critical) will probably remain on the existing block (bilge pump, blower, ignition...

Bow hunts when at idle speeds

The rudder on the inboards does stabalize out non-planed steering quite a bit. that's missing on in/outs. Steering is done pretty much with the prop alone, which when at idle, isn't much. Keepl playing aroung and you'll get used to it. Just realize that it has quite a bit of lag between...

    Pink Trim

hehe, yeah, that pic in my sig was right after detaching from tow behind a houseboat. I'll get a pic of the trim today and post it up a bit later..

    Pink Trim

So, finally got around to geting my 05 195sport out and detailed for the season yesterday, and I've noticed my interior trim is fading towards pink (odd, since it is white). Has anyone else noticed this? This is the smooth rounded rubber trim around the interior.

Engine Cover for 1997 185 Bowrider

You could probably get a Flexible Bumper Repair kit from an Auto Body supply company and do the repair work yourself. The stuff is basically a 2-part epoxy, that hardens into a flexible plastic. It's for cars, so it needs to be painted afterwards (otherwise, the epoxy is a flat black), but the...

    185 Sport Thread....

You might be able to go with a couple smaller, better quality subs. There MAY be room somewhere. I have the older style, with a BIT more space in it, so I can't really recommend a great place for the newer models. I do know that you can get some REALLY good quality bass out of smaller, higher...

    Boat name

Well, we just got out Sea Ray, and haven't solidified a name yet, but considerig the first day we had her on the local lake, just to test her out, and see how she runs, i took a turn when the admiral wasn't expecting it, and sent her cartwheeling to starboard. She landed on her shoulder into...

    185 Sport Thread....

It honestly looks like they were strictly going for more 'asthetically pleasing" lines, meaning trying to grab the young crowd. The new ones look more like seadoos than runabouts, and have similar practicality.
