    2005 Sundancer 280 Windlass won't retrieve

Was able to get to the boat slip this morning. As far as the Gypsy (I'm learning the terminology) It's for sure not turning but that's got me thinking about the clutch system ........ I need to learn a bit more on that. I guess that explains the handle that's stored inside the locker? After...

    2005 Sundancer 280 Windlass won't retrieve

Sorry for the slow response - been busy on another project... Thanks for the feedback and to answer a few questions I've tried at both switches (foot & helm) were checked out. By swapping the wires on the motor I was able to still release (out) on the anchor at both switches but the only thing...

    2005 Sundancer 280 Windlass won't retrieve

Hey gang, Got a couple of quick questions (I searched first and didn't find much) Seems my Windless will only work running out, not retrieving. I switched the wires coming from the switches to see if that would be the issue but both switches are working because it would then release with the...

    Rittenhouse case

It's almost as if Kyle Rittenhouse trained for this moment his whole life? He went there under many pretenses but it's pretty easy to surmise he also went there with a very good possibility he was gonna get to "blow away some commies that are destroying America." FYI, he didn't administer any...

Should you buy a gun or not?

knowledge & training is so paramount IMO. I see too many folks who own firearms and don't use them, maintain them, or train with them. If you choose to own (or carry) a firearm please get training and continue to train. Not only do you want to learn how to protect yourself more importantly you...

    Explain your user name.... Go!

Been on Texoma my whole life. 1st boat dad bought was a wooden v-bottom with a Mercury 50 (I learned to ski behind that boat). Although I'm no longer a "kid" I am living proof that we may have to grow old but we can be immature forever

Bravo 3 Gear Lube Reservoir Question

I just did this a few months back on both of my BIII drives. I clamped off the hose below the reservoir mounted on the front of the motor with a set of vice grips, Drained the drive and then filled from the bottom until it ran out of the top port. I then reinstalled the screw to the top port...

    Official 280 Sundancer Thread

Nice set up. Yeah I shouldn't have any issue flush mounting the Hook 2 Reveal 7. Appreciate the pic. Helps more than you know.

    Official 280 Sundancer Thread

Has anyone installed a Lowrance Hook Reveal 7" in their 280 DA? I'm leaning hard toward this unit. Looks like it will just squeeze into that area in the middle just above the wheel. Would love to see some pics of your Chartplotters in your 280 DA (besides the ones that have already been posted)...

Would you Buy Now and How Far?

We drove about 700 miles to get the previous boat back in 2010 and this time we were in the market for almost 2 years before we found the "right" boat for us - And we drove about 800 miles to get this one. It was a total adventure both times but I wouldn't trade the experience for anything and...

270 Sundancer WOT Performance, Other boats welcome

We clocked 43.1 (GPS) MPH in our '05 280 DA w/twin 5.0's & BIII's with 3 blade 24P props @ 4600 RPM. I suspect it might do a little more under the right conditions.

    PSA on DIY oil change

To my knowledge it's OEM (Factory). Yeah these twins are quieter than our previous single engine and I'm sure the thick insulation is the main reason. It's a quiet ride @ 3500 rpm.

    PSA on DIY oil change

So you assume I'm not a seasoned boater and my choice of filter on this particular oil change is because I'm cheap? I was just proud of my bucket and pump. found a filter that was entirely overtightened and shared that issue with others. Now, I'm a rookie boater that goes the cheap route? You...

    PSA on DIY oil change

I'm very much aware of the "stats" but to be honest this was my post and thread just making a subtle suggestion to any of those members who plan to change their own oil & filter change and think they might need to tighten that filter with a filter wrench. Hand tight only will suffice. Also I'm...
