Glad to hear the PP is working out good for you. I didn't make any changes to the settings, factory settings.

I installed it myself and didn't find it too difficult. You can check out the instructions on the PP website to see if it's something you feel comfortable doing. It holds speed very well (doesn't deviates more than 0.2 mph from the set speed) and was the best $1000 I spent on the boat. Jeff H...

My factory tower is 1-7/8 inches. You may need to convert that to metric.

    185 Sport - Battery Selections

Thank you for the valuable info, much appreciated. When spring rolls around, I'll be ducking into the engine bay to explore my options. Is there a charging wire from the alternator that also connects to battery 1+? Is this different/separate from the starter wire? Thanks again.

    185 Sport - Battery Selections

I mean the factory battery cables that are connected to the battery now. Do I leave them connected and not touch them? Based on your instructions, I would: Run a wire from the starter stud to the common on the back of the switch Run a wire from Battery 1+ to battery 1 post on the switch. Run...

    185 Sport - Battery Selections

SR Tech, Thanks for the good information you provided. I'm will be adding a group 27 battery and a perko switch. Do the original battery cables (positive and negative) stay on the original battery? My amps are currently hooked up to the original battery. Should I hook them up to the common...

Oil filter for 4.3L V6 Mercruiser

Tought I would share some information I learned during my last oil change. The Fram PH3387A can be used in place of the Mercury Marine 35-883702Q for those that have the 4.3L V6 without remote oil filter. The physical dimensions are identical. I was able to get the FRAM at a fraction of the...

185 Sport - Second Bilge Pump Selection

Keep in mind the GPH ratings on pumps are based on how much water they move with zero head pressure. The ratings are usually 30% lower in real world applications where the thru-hull will be 3 feet higher than the pump.

Edbaughman, both the dealer and Merge360 are right on the tower size. I measured mine with a capiler before I ordered my mirror from Wakeside.com The stock prop on my boat was a 23P Black Max. I dropped down to a 21P High Five. The lower pitch produces more acceleration at the cost of top...

    185 Sport. Subwoofer location recommedations

Scott, I found the easiest way of adding a quality sub was just putting a 10" or 12" box in the engine storage compartment. It offers you an unlimited selection of subs and amps and you get to use the highest quality components. I have a 10" Polk Momo with 300W RMS. I have plenty of bass and...

Yes, the strainer is not necessary. The handling is a less responsive at slow speeds because there's more momentum. I need to be more careful when picking up a down rider or I may take water over the bow. I have plenty of power to get out of the hole and on plane. Once on plane, handling is...

Thanks. I chose to use the mushroom thru-hull because the strainer type thru-hulls have a built in scoop that will force water in when the boat is moving. Also, new wakeboard boats use the mushroom vs strainer for their ballasts and it was easier to install too.

Glad to have found this forum again. I did a lot of reading here before purchasing my boat but then found the forum shutdown. I've used the last few days to catch up and now that I'm caught up, here's my first post. I'm a big fan of pictures so thought I'd share some...
