Find another marina was the answer I liked best. Either
that or take the marina owner out to dinner...always works,
you scratch their back and they'll ask you to park your boat out back.
Try using an epoxy paint in the bilge. If cracks appear after use
you may want to get it to dealer as it would indicate strucural movement. If no cracking appears it was a cosmetic problem.
Morpheus,
I got a new gateway laptop for my boat. The idea being is during the winter, usually do
my route planning and interface with my lowrance GPS. My wife and I were looking to
do an onboard wi fi setup that way there, we
can monitor weather radar and e-mail friends to advise...
How do I check my shore power converter.
The guy I bought the boat from said when
he hooked up to shore power the batteries
would be dead when he unhooked. This
guy never left the dock much and didn't really
seem all that conversant on systems. I was wondering if the place to start may be, to...
Thanks for the encouragement, I just came in from snowblowing another 6" of snow. All is not lost though, I just got my new marine vinyl to reupholster my helm seat. If I was out cruising I probably wouldn't get to do the
maintenance. It does make me want winter to
be over though. Time to become...
Your boat should run on a plane a lot lower than 3500rpm. My wife and I have a 270
sundancer and we are up around 2800 and
cruising. Check your bottom for fouling. Do
you have tabs...make sure they work...and
before every tripchange the oil every four days like someone suggested. That might be a...
A friend runs his 46 footer up from atlantic city up through the
sound through Cape Cod canal to Barnstable avg. trip 14 hours.
w/ twin 410TI's. you want to come up vineyard sound then up
Nantucket sound btwn Cape on to the Harbor...nice trip w/ great stopover points.
Julia,
Pretty much, like others have indicated there are a lot of factors. On a good day you
may go from Boston outer harbor to the Gurnite light in 45 minutes. Depends on the boat. As with the slog out of Boston, coming into Plymouth your going run along
browns bank to "bug light" follow...
The whole boating industry is in the same predicament. My son is an ABYC cert. boatbuilder and was laid off from Sabre yachts. They are closing their main plant,
Back Cove yachts is downsizing. The Sea Ray
dealer I do business with has been flat with
few sales since last June...which is the case...
Many repo's I have looked at have been stripped. One guy even
took the kitchen sink, props, head, pumps, everything he could
physically remove. Youv'e gotta love it!
Hi gang, I am new to the site, belong to sea ray owners club and have a 270 sundancer. I have been trying to post to a number of members and keep getting logged off. What's up...
We have an '86 270 sundancer w/twin 170 alpha I I/O's. It
is one heck of a boat. A buddy has the 86 268 DA with the
350 single I/o he can get up and go and it's a great boat. In
Fact if you read soundings magazine from this summer they
had an article on people searching around for 80's models...
Hi Anchor locker,
I have an 86 sundancer 270 with a bow
hatch just aft of the pulpit. The way you describe it may be set up for installing one.
the hatch is hinged to toward the bow, basic
common sense. I keep 300 feet of line in the locker with the anchor and there is still room
for more...
I would look at trim tabs, then check your outdrive and make sure it is in proper down position. As long as the hull is clean,
the engine is tuned, the tabs work and the drive is adjusted down properly, that baby should be on a plane 2500 to 2800
rpm's depending on weight distribution. Also like...
Brian,
I have an '86 270Sundancer my wife hates the interior colors...so we went out got some sunbrella and sewed away.
Now the interior is awesome. The next thing I'm going to tackle
this winter is the cockpit upolstery is weathered and cracking, so
I pulled the seats and found some...
You forgot your "Spring line" go mid cleat to stern. Warm the powerhouse up, get ready to cast bow 1st, stern, do a quick little
rev. pressure off the spring, release, go forward and don't be shy! I love watchin newbies depart...after a few tries youll' get it. when your out around a bouy or...
Sounds like a shark repeler....just kidding, I see the word "temp"
at the end it almost sounds like it may be a water temperature
sender...unless you have a depthfinder and can't locate a transducer for it.
