    Empty or full gas tank?

I had my fuel tank drained and cleaned 2 months ago due to water in the tank. Due to some things going on, we have not had a chance to get back out on the water and it doesn't seem like we will be able to the rest of this season. So I was going to go ahead and winterize the boat while it's...

Bow rest rubbing off bottom paint

I have a brand new venture trailer for our 2011 Sea Ray 260 sundancer. Had the trailer store set up the trailer to the boat. Only problem afterwards was that the anchor and anchor shoot would hit the bow stand while loading and unloading, no matter the tide or the angle. I bought a bow rest...

    Trim tabs moving slowly

2011 Sea Ray 260 sundancer. I noticed last time out that my trim tabs didn't seem to be working as well. When I got it back home, I played with the tabs in my driveway a notice that they move slowly. They go down slightly faster than they come back up. But even going down they do not move...

    Anybody on the West River?

Looking at a slip on the West River and I was curious if anybody has any information about the area. Saw a few Sea Rays there and a bunch of sailboats. It's close to the bay, so there's some movement and while I've been boating for many years, I only have a short amount of slip experience. So...

Electric fuel pump on carb motor

We have a 1998 Sea Ray 215ec with 350 carb thunderbolt ignition. We are finally letting it go to a friend since we've gotten our 2011 260 Sundancer. When we bought the 215, the previous owner installed an electronic fuel pump. I never found a good way to get the boat to fire right up. Sometimes...

Does dry weight include arch or no?

2011 260da advertised dry weight is 6900 pound's. Do you think that the arch is included in that weight and a non arch is lighter? Or would you think 6900 pound's is bare bones and higher if you have the arch?

Leave antifreeze in holding tank or pump out?

I have read about people doing it each way. Leave antifreeze in, in case of any water left behind and read people put antifreeze in and have have it pumped out so antifreeze coats everything on the way out. Which is the best way to do it?

Draining freshwater tank without using the pump

I'm looking for a good way to drain my fresh water tank without using the pump. Asking because my pump strainer keeps getting clogged while trying to flush out my tank and lines. So I'm looking for a faster and easier way to drain the tank without having to stop every 2 minutes to pull the...

    Hatch window trim options

Wanted to add the sunscreen/sunshade option to my hatch window on my 2011 260da. When I took the current trim surround down to take a look, I noticed the edge and finish work of the hatch did not look that good. I was wondering if there was any type of trim or any ideas to make it look better...

Selling a set of brand new, OEM mercruiser elbows with a 4" rise. Part number 8M0153671 I ordered 4" rise and I need a 6" rise for my boat, so my loss is your gain. I ordered from PartsVu on 9/12/22 and went to install on 9/24/22 and realized I ordered the wrong size. PartsVu has the kit for...

    270SE to a 260, good or bad?

We're looking at going to a 2003 260 from a 1998 270 SE. Is it a good or bad move? I know the 260 is a foot smaller but it does have an extended swim platform so it's technically same size or bigger. Both boats are fully loaded except the 270 has a generator and the 260 does not. The 260 has...

How to use AC and Generator in 270

We have a 98 270se and looking for the proper procedure to fire up and use the AC and Generator. As far as I know for the generator, make sure the seacock valve is open and push the start button to start it, make sure water is flowing out. I assume AC is the same way. Make sure the valve is...

    1998 270SE steering cable replacement

I have a 1998 Sea Ray 270 special edition with 454 MPI and Bravo 3 drive. The steering isn't horrible but it's not as effortless as everybody else says it is especially after replacing the cable. Looking through all the maintenance records, I did not see the cable was ever replaced so I would...

Can you replace mechanical hour meter with digital?

I have the hour meter in with my tach, the kind that spins and I'm assuming is (mechanical). I want to replace my gauges but I cannot find any gauges that I like with a roll style hour meter, just digital. Would the digital hour meter still work or no? I know there is a signal wire for the...
