480 Sedan Bridge Owners,
My wife and I own a 2003 480 Sedan Bridge boat and it's time to replace the cockpit carpet. Looking for recommendations -- we live in Rhode Island.

480 DB Gang ...
My wife and I are looking at a '99 powered by Detroit Diesels 6V92 DDEC with a total of 1212hp. Seems at least 10% smaller than CATs and Cummins we've seen. Thoughts about the reliability and power delta? Thanks in advance.
480 Owners
My wife and I are looking to move up from our Searay 400DB to a 480 Sedan Bridge soon. Everything about the 480 seems to meet our needs but I need ground truth on one point though ...
What is the 'real' overall length of the 480 including a TnT platform. The marina we are at has a...
Thanks one and all...We are in the hunt for a 480. I think my wife is still intimitated by the size...but I'll work on her. Thank all for the good advice. I get the overwhelming sense that you-all give the 480 a two thumbs up. I know... I sure like the lines, features and cruising potential this...
Thank you for your extensive and thorough comments. We were aboard our first 480 last week. Your comment about the difference is more that the mere 8 ft is so true. We looked at each other and said," this is a big boat". Thanks again...
Searay Owners and Enthusiasts,
My wife (Jeanne) and I have owned our 400DB for 6 years and love the boat and its layout/performance. It has been a perfect boat for the Narragansett and surrounding destinations. We enjoy cruising and are comfortable on moorings/the hook along with occassional...
Gang... I am looking for some advice. My wife and I are the proud owners of a '98 400 DB with CAT 3116(s) and a Westerbeke 8K Gen. Our engineroom is very well insulated and manages engine and vibration pretty well. Yes we still know we have CATs under the deck!
My question is about the...
Hello,
I have a 400 DB and just noticed that the trailing edge on one of my props is slightly bent from having struck something. It is only about an inch in length and out of alignment by less than a 1/4 inch. It looks like a carefully placed jig and gentle pressure with a clamp would correct...
Hey,
Boot strip is worn and I want to remove it. I have tried a heat gun and it works with much effort. Any other good ideas to peel off these old strips?
Thanks

Bill,
Based on our conversation at the marina last weekend, sounds like you are well on your way getting to the bottom of your problems. We are on the "hard" accross from the yard shop. Good luck and stay in touch.
PS Thanks for the CD changer. It's nice to have a ready spare on hand.
Savannah,
It is an easy job. First you need to remove the door and finish trim on the outside. This is accomplished by removing a series of screws on the inside of the finish trim.
Next remove the screws on the front of the icebox that secure it to the grey facia that surrounds the icebox...
Dan give me a call on my cell and I'll tell you the way we do it. If this is your first time, you may want to have your engines done by a pro and look over his shoulder. A screw-up with your CATS or the genset could cost alot in the spring.
Don't forget to winterize the fresh water, sewage...
OK I'm getting really tired of rain coming into the cockpit area on my 400db. The canvas the covers the sides is snapped on the inside of the side steps. I have water that comes down along the air intake cover and down the canvas onto the steps. The water forms and makes its way into the cockpit...
Have any of you replaced your cockpit icemaker? Ours died and I started to remove it - thinking it was an afternoon to pull and replace with a new one. Seemed straight forward at first but I can't get the old icemaker out of the door opening. I have removed the door and frame, removed the...
Jon,
We just completed the same mod to our 400DB. Our boat is located at the NAVSTA Newport, RI. Give me a call and I'll let you come aboard and see the installation.
Only the very best,
