At that point I plan to give the boat to one, or more, of my nephews and they can haul me around

    Garmin G2 vs. Mapsource

I really like being able to view my charts on my PC. I can plan routes etc. and then program them on my unit. Is this type of functionality still available with the new G2? It seems like you can only buy data cards. Am I missing something? THANKS, Hal

    310DA/330DA : 1990-1994 vs. 1995-1999

Dominic, Thanks for the concise summary of differences. You state : "newer model will have 1 1/2" shafts as opposed to 1 1/4" shafts" starting with which model year are the 1 1/2" shafts standard? "newer model will have dripless shaft seals. older model will have to be packed "...

    310DA/330DA : 1990-1994 vs. 1995-1999

Well... The 310 was not very well maintained. I had the feeling that the owner didn't take very good care of his toys. He is a builder who got ahead of himself in "spec houses" and needs the cash flow to pay property taxes. So, we are going to reserve decision until we look at a second one...

    310DA/330DA : 1990-1994 vs. 1995-1999

Going to look at one of each on Wednesday. A 1991 310DA and a 1996 330DA. Hopefully I will decide which vintage to pursue and subsequently narrow down my search. I know I will want both a survey and a sea trail. Other than that anything specific I should try to focus on at first look...

    Boat Buying - Off Season

Thanks Cruisn, Did you actually purchase the boat in Dec. or simply put a down payment. Was the purchase price, or down payment, held in escrow pending the sea trial? .Hal

    Boat Buying - Off Season

Here in Michigan everything is sort of tucked in for "w". Obviously I would not want to buy a previously enjoyed vessel without both a survey and a sea trial. Since I can't trial until spring how would I present an offer? I can think of two options. - Offer an escrowed deposit with a...

    330DA - I/O vs. Inboards

Good point Peter. - Several people have mentioned top speed. That is not a concern at all. I don't really care about WOT. - My main hope in raising this question was to quantify the improvements in efficiency at cruise. - My other question is the ability to stay on plane at slower speeds...

    330DA - I/O vs. Inboards

The boat I've heard about has Bravo I drives. It will be used almost exclusively in fresh water. It will be pulled every year for "W" storage. So it sounds like the only real down side would be having the drives pulled for an alignment check every 100 hours or so????

    330DA - I/O vs. Inboards

We've actually thought about both. I prefer the cockpit layout on the 95-99 model. But the price of the 90-94 is attractive

    330DA - I/O vs. Inboards

My wife and I are considering a "previously enjoyed" 330DA. It will be freshwater use. I know they are rare but there are a few out there with 7.4L I/O's. I believe the I/O's should be more efficient, but how much? We're curious if there are any I/O owners out there that can share their...
