I put a 7” Garmin in our stateroom for the same reason. It’s also connected to an Airmar 200WX. Great for peace of mind while sleeping at anchor. Not to mention it’s a great alarm clock when sleeping at the Marina….

The Garmin system will “lose” the rudder feedback if power is on to it 24/7. This takes weeks/months, but if you leave your battery switches on it will happen. Easy fix is usually to turn off battery switches (both port and starboard), wait ten seconds, turn them back on. This has...

Just got back from 5 Nights in Catalina! Awesome trip. Great weather, no boat “issues”. Pic above was taken Monday afternoon in Avalon (hiked up above the Bell Tower). The mooring field and the island in general were still packed on Monday. Finally Summer in SoCal….
