not allowing turbos to spool up results in excess fuel on a mechanical engine... too much fuel / not enough oxygen results in unburned fuel and black smoke
I had A Mercury 310 Airdeck with 15 hp 4-stroke and it planed with no issues. Keep in mind that the floor needs to be inflated to something like 12 psi which is a real pain.
Re: Any info on anchoring outside the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, NJ to listen to concer
I've been there for concerts both at anchor, pretty much directly in front of SS New Jersey, and docked at Wiggins Park Marina (the round boat basin). Sound kind of sucks both on the water and in the marina...
Too late for this trip but Newark has a pretty cool Portugese / Brazilian district called Ironbound. Quick ride from Uber and safe to walk once you're there. Plenty of good, non-chain options.

Searay and Benetti already share many of the distribution channels both outside the US and even here (Marinemax is pushing Azimut here like crazy). I would not be surprised if there was some design cooperation to create a global yacht backed by a global brand and distribution / service network...
What a story!
Being mostly in upper Chesapeake Bay, we are usually no more than 5 min away from waist-deep water and there are usually plenty of other boats in the area. But a true catastrophic event really changes everything and this article gave me some food for thought. I have a ditch bag...
I'm sure you'll get plenty of local knowledge from our Barnegat Bay members. My perspective is from a deliver trip I did bringing my dock neighbor's 2008 44DA from Brick to the Chesapeake. This was our first time in the area, other than messing around on jetskis which visiting a buddy on LBI...
How about Oxford? http://www.portofoxford.com/main/
Very laid back town with nice beach, full of Chesapeake Bay history, and couple of good restaurants. All within a very walkable downtown.
You could either anchor out in Town Creek or get a slip at...
I change engine-mounted fuel filters once a year at winterization - all new filters, fluid changes, and winterization.
I typically have to change my primary Racors about half way through the season when I start seeing some vacuum on the filter gauges.
Congrats and welcome to the bay. You have found the best resource for Searay owners, cruising the Chesapeake, and general boating lifestyle advice. Post some pics and more detail location.
+1 on the 460! I own a 2002 410 but I spent a good deal of time on 2001 460. I also have a couple of friends with recent vintage 400, 420, and 440 Sundancer and I have hung out on them and run them all.
I think 2000 and newer 460 with hard top, cockpit air, hydraulic platform, and good upkeep...
If you have one pump feeding both units, forward unit will inevitably flow less than the salon one. It will also get silted up more quickly. Water has to travel farther, thus less pressure...
I have to flush my A/C line monthly or so in the heat of the season. My system has one pump for both units, there is a water manifold at the pump that splits the flow between the forward berth and salon units. I disconnect each hose individually at the manifold, connect my garden hose from the...
