Maybe it's a Maryland thing... but I get flashed a fair amount to warn me of speed traps. Of course I try to pay it forward whenever I can.
See?? there are still good people left in the world. (boy, did I really just say that??)
Yeah.... one day it was there and the next day.... GONE!!!
Hey Todd, I have seen the other threads regarding do it yourself snaps... do you think one of those plier type snap tools are good enough for this use or do you recommend the more expensive type??
<HAN>
Hey folks,
I lost the little strap with a snap on it which kept the transom door open. What is that thing called and where do I get one, preferably not at the dealership.
It was just a piece of nylon strap with a screw driven into one side and a snap on the other.
Thanks,
<HAN>
Hey monk,
I have the same boat. Which engine does it have?? Your problem sounds like you may have just run your batteries down too low. I think the fridge eats up a lot of juice.

Update (long)
Hey guys,
Finally had a chance to go down to the boat and work on it and see what the problem could be. It turned out to be quite an adventure as it took me about 4 hours to get it fixed.... and the sad thing is, I am not even exactly sure what I did.
I flipped the switch at...
Capz,
Thanks for checking that for me. When I am down at the boat this weekend, I will have to try the switches under the mooring cover so I can see if the gauges light up or not.
I will let you guys know what I find.

I am not sure about other boats but on mine, there is a separate switch for "lights" which turns on my all around anchor light and another switch for "nav lights." So it would seem turning on the "lights" switch should not light up the whole dash board.... but then again, what do I know?? I...
I see where you are trying to lead this blind fool.... yes.. the nav lights worked early last year but since i do all my boating during the day, i didn't really check them after that. This year, my little girl wants to anchor out with me so I am trying to make sure all my safety stuff is in...
I am not sure about the dash lights as I have usually checked during the daytime.... there is a separate switch for "cockpit" lights... and that works...
I had the actuator go out on my 1998 290. I took it off and brushed off some crud and reconnected it and it has been working fine for the past 3 years. You might try that first since the replacement option sounds expensive.
I have a 1998 290 and the nav lights do not seem to be working. I flipped the switch on the helm but there is no light. Before I switch out the whole thing (the bulbs look to be OK), do I need to be in gear or does the engine have to be turned on before the nav lights will come on? If...
I have the 1998 290 with the 5.7 twins with alpha I drives. Gas mileage isn't great but I couldn't tell you exactly what it is since I don't have a fuel flow meter. It does get up to plane fairly quick, though. I believe there is a difference between the 1998 model and 1999 and later...
A question from a newbie on using TWO anchors.... I understand you put down the forward anchor and then back down and then deploy the aft anchor... Which do you pull up first when it's time to move?? I would think the aft anchor but how do you pull it up?? Do you back down some more?? Or am...
Man, I don't think I would ever go through the cut at more than idle speed... although I guess I would draw a shallower draft on plane...
I come out of the Back river and it's too much of a pain to go all the way around Hart Miller...
I didn't actually feel the props "hitting" bottom but as you know, it's a soft mud bottom so I am not sure if I would feel anything. Did see a bunch of mud stirred up in the water.....
To answer the other question... the "cut" is clearly marked on the charts and there are markers galore on...
Last year, I was going though the 'cut' when my depth reader got shallower and shallower and started reading ONE FOOT. I had to cut the engine... got turned around as it was windy.... got pushed sideways and hit one of the pilings for a marker. That left me with some fiberglass damage I had to...
