I know this is an old post, but stumbled upon it while looking for paint alternatives.
When I pulled the monkey fur aka carpet off the walls, I used Flex Seal. took 2 cans of the liquid rubber. coated my walls with a nice rubberized waterproof seal.
I live in Denver CO and recently went through a similar experience. Wife and I looked for months. I finally decided on an older boat for WAY less. Figured I could do most the work. Pennies on the dollar. But came with the task of a rebuild. Hull was good. Motor ran. That was pretty much it...

The answer if anyone else need to know .... Weight limit is 1500lbs and with persons AND gear its 2400lbs
Thanks a billion!
It at least gives me something to work off of. How long is yours? which motor? one or 2 of them? it also doesnt look like yours have the flybridge.
mines 25 1/2' ...... 4700 lbs dry weight ..... has a 70 gal tank .... and powered by a single merc 260.
Im sure all of those...
i figured as much.
No idea on the weight capacity? I dont want to guess and say 12 or 2000 lbs and its really 8 persons or 1600. Or vise versa and cut myself short.
I would also assume the fly bridge might factor in as well. it adds 200 lbs to the factory build. This is all ive found as far...
Im restoring a 1978 SRV w the fly bridge. It has the single Mercruiser 260. The fly bridge has a plate that states 2 people or 450 LBS capacity.
My Question is: What is that capacity of the boat itself?
I cant find a plate or label anywhere stating weight limits.
Additional question: With...
I bought a 5x5 sheet of marine grade plywood and cut all new hatches. Sanded down edges so they we smooth. Then stained. Either bought new hinges or straightened out the old ones. Attach a handle or a latch. And you got new hatches. Attached a picture of before I installed the latch.
Progress update. We got new 5x5 sheet of Marine Grade birch. Get to cut/stain/install some new hatch doors on the engine, storage, and Anchor. Also go new Fabric for the cushions. ...
I'll post pics when they are complete.
Mine is rated at 260 HP. Was told it will cruise at 20-25 no issue. Top out around 30-35. But mine is the SDB version with the flybridge. So it weighs like 400 lbs more. Those speeds are just fine for everything I want to do anyway.
However...... I'm still refitting it so I havent actually...
Looks like some sort of charger for the house batt? Maybe just runs emergency lighting? Either way, it's an older boat and I have no Idea what these boxes do. Any suggestions on what to swap in? I know the tech is much better now than in the 80s.
I have a 03 Ram 1500. Upgraded brakes. It has a 3.55 rear too. With tow package its rated 7800-8500 lbs. Boat was 4700 and steel trailer is about 1200. So I pulled about 6000 lbs through the Rockies. 8% grade on some of those hills. The hydraulic brake on the trailer is is out too, so...
