    Bravoitis or deeper overheating issue

Sea Hunt is a solid boat. Brother has a 19' SeaHunt from the 70's. We run that thing ragged and it can take a beating.

    Bravoitis or deeper overheating issue

Ok all, after much trial and error, and a lot of troubleshooting, the new mechanic found a hairline crack on Cylinder 7 (Cracked block). Can't say this was the culprit of the overheating, how long it has been there, or (most likely) if this was simply the cause of the block overheating. Either...

All, Looking to flush mount a Garmin or Raymarine GPS (6"-7" screen) into my dashboard, so I will have to relocate/ purchase new gauges. Has anyone done this? If so, I would love to see some pictures on how you relocated everything. Thanks in advance!

    Bravoitis or deeper overheating issue

I hear ya! It almost makes me want to open my own marine shop. By simply doing honest work and managing client expectations, there’s a lot of money to be had. Good reliable mechanics seem to be so hard to find these days.

Correction, thanks espos4. I did purchase new manifolds and risers. This mechanic will be taking them back off though to verify the previous mechanic did it correctly, and of course reinstall new gaskets. The borescope is for the cylinders, making sure they aren’t marked and scored.

Just how the cookie crumbles sometimes. Like I said though, once this is done, everything should be squared away again.

    Bravoitis or deeper overheating issue

Hello All, Long time update coming. Long story made short: My local marina, whom I trusted to do solid work, simply did not. The first in-house mechanic updated me on progress being made throughout the winter months (albeit slow progress due to "winterizing 300 boats")... only when I called...

    Manifold, spacer, and riser purchase

I have to replace the manifolds, spacers, and risers on my 07 Sundeck 5.7 Mag MPI. To those that have replaced yours on the same engine, any recommendations on who to buy/ stay away from for cast irons? Lastly, if my manifolds, risers, and spacers are not currently dry joint, is there any...

    Oil leak?

Any signs of leakage around the head gaskets? Any black or white smoke coming out of the exhaust? If you pull the spark plugs, are they oily? Id recommend cleaning it up and running it with the hatch open to see if you can identify the source.

    Bravoitis or deeper overheating issue

I was afraid of that answer. If I’m taking all of this apart, would you recommend risers as well, seeing that water flows through them too?

Thanks for the info! Did you have to remove the cool fuel housing? Currently on order, awaiting delivery: Impeller Housing O rings Bolts and washers Gasket 160 thermostat and all of its gaskets Belt Should all be here by next weekend. If that doesn’t solve the issue, I will be looking more...

    Bravoitis or deeper overheating issue

This is the the seawater pulley. To the left of this, there’s about 1” clearance between the pulley and the side of the inner Hull. From there, it rises about 12” tall, where it meets the steps to the swim platform. I’ll take another pic tomorrow.
