    Official 280 Sundancer Thread

I tow with a 2013 F250 gas. She's got a limit of 12,500 and I have a long driveway that climbs 100 feet. In 4 low I've never had a problem hauling her up the hill. Going down my hands are always on the trailer break but the 250 has been a solid tow vehicle. From the 2005 spec sheet her dry...

    Official 280 Sundancer Thread

I trailer about 2-4 times a season. Basically, I take her out of the water for 1-3 months to do some annual haul maintenance from home. I've never needed a permit and have had plenty of interactions with various law enforcement (all positive and helpful).

For what it is worth I've been using this now for 2 months and am very happy so far.

New gear or servo need for Guest 22040 spotlight

I got the bulb and vertical axis working fine but as I took it apart to install the boot now my horizontal axis seems to be sticking in a few spots. I don't see any obvious signs of broken teeth or such. Has anyone opened up and replaced the horizontal gear? If so how did you disassemble the...

    SUP Board?

So I tried my roof rack approach today to see how it would fit and if it would be worth adding gromits to the arch so I can secure the board. It seemed to fit like a glove and I'm really tempted to install two loops on the arch so I can easily strap my board down there. Here's some photos...

    SUP Board?

I've got two inflatables and they are nice but the effort to inflate and deflate is a bit of work. I'm toying with the idea of putting my solid boat above on the radar arch strapped back to to the even of the bimini cover. It's only 45 lbs so statically it should be find but I'm nervous about...

New gear or servo need for Guest 22040 spotlight

Great thread. Many thanks for the info. My light has the broken vertical motor gear as well. I call Marinco today and it turns out that motor is discontinued with no replacement. So I'm looking into re-gluing the gear on to the shaft. Any suggestions are welcome. I'm thinking jbweld and...

    280 Dancer Props

It takes me about 5-10 seconds (approximately) to get fully planning. I'm able to go to full throttle in about 2 seconds and don't get aeration. I'd check your props are stock or similar. Also do you have trim tabs, putting them both all down down can help (the adjust once on a plane). Also...

    280 Sundancer Intake Vent Cover

Where did you end up getting one? I'm trying to find one for my starboard side and have had little luck. It seems like the stock one from the dealer is quite a bit more and comes without gelcoat.

    Official 280 Sundancer Thread

Has anyone used an H2O or similar pull up davit system on their 280? I'm looking into an H20 with the centerline of my dinghy about 6" past the end of the swim platform. I'm curious how it would handle in rough conditions and as the boat has bow rise while getting on a plane. I've been reading...

    Dinghy on Sundancer 280

Curious for updates on this old thread. I just bought a 2005 280 DA and have been trying various dinghy combos and am curious for a followup on what people's current experiences are. Has anyone mounted a pull-up davit system like the H20 on their swim platform? Did they have it extended out...

2007 280 DA - replacing anchor rode (rope + chain)

I'm in the process of doing the same for a 2005 280DA and would love to know what others are using. I'm tempted to get 100' of chain and the 200 of rope to keep most of my anchoring to chain only.

    280 Dancer Props

FWIW I called Sea Ray yesterday and they confirmed that my original config was with those two vengeance 17p props. Kozzy -- Can you share the specs on those aluminum props and how your tests work out. My mechanic is pushing me to go alum to avoid dissimilar metals. Also I did a bunch of WOT...

06 280DA Moving VHF Radio, Mounting IPAD

Glued a magnet on the side and use it to hold my iphone running my navigation app. The mount I use for the phone on my car has me put a small smooth metal plate in the case behind the phone. So the old phone locks in place right there and is kept in a water proof case. No issues so far and it...

    280 Dancer Props

FWIW I just took ownership of a 2005 280DA with the same motors and generator and 17P (vengeance 48-16314 & 48-16315 17P) on both drives 110 hours on both motors. Thanks for the discussion very helpful info for me as well, and nice to know I'm not the only new 280DA owner. At WOT I was...
