I trailer about 2-4 times a season. Basically, I take her out of the water for 1-3 months to do some annual haul maintenance from home. I've never needed a permit and have had plenty of interactions with various law enforcement (all positive and helpful).

For what it is worth I've been using this now for 2 months and am very happy so far.
