I had a pipe plug rust through this past weekend, left front side of the intake manifold. Had been idling a bit and when I tried to get up on plane the boat was running horrible. Popped the hatch and there was a stream of water shooting into the underside of the flame arrester cover. I put a rag...
I did mine a couple of weeks ago, the last bolt on the riser didn't have enough head left to get a wrench on. Ended up taking a cutting wheel to it then removed the rest of the bolt with vise grips. The cutting wheel will nick into the riser but I had already planned to replace so it didn't...
I found a boat a few states away and the sellers' broker helped me get it surveyed and hooked me up with a nice shipper, so I now have my new boat.
Trouble is though, they only sent the signed titles, but no bills of sale, so technically I can't register the boat and the trailer. Six days of...
Thanks for the input, I have actually read those threads. Some good info, but any thoughts on the lack of inventory for sale, particulculary the years I mentioned? Were they low production boats or are they just so well loved that they hold on to them? I don't recall seeing that many out and...
With a now two year old boy, and the possibility of another on the way, my wife and I have had little time for cruising last season and have recently sold our Maxum 3200.
Honestly, I would just be happy with a Whaler to run around in, but my wife insists on something more comfortable for...
Congrats on the new boat. I am suprised that no one has commented on the blog about the cinderblocks breaking, they were stacked in the wrong direction.
Ideas mean very little when your boat is trying to sink. Crawl in the E/R and feel around the transom plate. If it is coming in below the plate you have a structural problem (rotten transom, bad seal at transom plate), if it is coming in near one of the bellows then there is your answer. If...
Out of curiosity, what is the spacing between those brackets? That stuff gets really flexible (especially in the hot sun) and is not suppose to span more than 16" on center.
Those things are definitely vicious, I came across one on the golf course one day (about 1 foot around) and in the process of pushing it into the woods it bit THROUGH a broomstick. Gotta love pets and the bills they bring with them.
Just got this dock box and, of course, the dock committee says that it's too big! Made by Better Way Products, box looks brand new. Here is a link to the factory specs-----

Box was almost $500 new, asking $350. I may...
Is a 541 the same thing? My compressor went up in the fall and I just got a Tundra. The mounting bracket has a couple of rust spots on it but is far from rusted out.
If the shore power and inverter were on you should have been charging the whole time. Check the levels in the batts, charge and load test, I bet they are on they're way south (or north).
The local paper (The Capital) ran a fluff piece about these two today. A bit of reading on their blog leads me to believe they won't make it past North Carolina without killing themselves or someone else. Thoughts, comments? I really like the fact that they can't afford to have nav lights...
