Mine died last summer. I was able to get it out with no problem. I think the only thing I removed was the freezer door. I had it repaired for around $500.
The compressor is behind the cabinet in the galley above the stove. The problem is more likely the horn itself. You will need to remove it from the anchor locker and clean or replace the diaphrams. I got away with just cleaning mine.
I'm in!
My aft cabin vent is also frozen up. You need to remove the cabinet above the head to acess it. We never really used it and I figured it would only freeze up again so I never fixed it. There ai also an in-line fuse for it located behind the electrical panel. I'd check that 1st(much...
Yes Alex it was a funny scene. Did you catch the part when my son came down the steps and pushed me in? I went in, hit the side of the tube and flipped my wife over!
I agree, it was one of the best raft-ups we have been too!
Alex, I also run the generator to keep the a/c's going. I like the cabin to be cool when we get to our destination. I also feel it's a good idea to run the generator and the cost is minimal all things considered.
I figure 25 gals for 20 miles at cruise rpms(2300-2400). This keeps me on the safe side. I always run the generator and I figure about 1-gal/hr on the starboard tank and it usually come close to that.
I will see if I can take a picture this coming weekend. From what I remember the new mounts are like a rubber grommet with a washer on each side. The tank itself was also "beefed" up. Have you heard back from the radiator shop as to whether they can repair?
I had the same thing happen to both my engines. I had the tanks and mtg brkts replaced with new and improved versions from CAT. They are built much better and I think they have rubber mounts. No problems since but it was about $700.00ea engine.
Ron, believe it or not Eric & I were talking about leaving earlier but now thinking about it I can't really see that happening. You should have your own concerns with Rudy!
We have the same problem. I keep the sump clean and I'ver blasted water through the line from both ends! The shower in the forward head drains fine so there is no issue with the holes. I also think it may be some air lock problem. I've given up on it and just accept it.
