Engine cutting out and quickly recovering.

I'm very happy to close out this thread! As Scotland stated, it appears the problem was the pickup on the distributor. Replaced it today and it seems to be running perfectly so far. Tonight or tomorrow I'll try her inner load. Thank you so much!!!!!!!

Engine cutting out and quickly recovering.

Fresh full tanks of fuel.. so ruled that out. I think the only things I haven't replaced are the pickup and the ignition module. I just purchased two fuel pressure gauges so I'll Plumb one of them in tomorrow and watch it when it stalls out. At least that'll 100% rule out a fuel issue.

Engine cutting out and quickly recovering.

Ok.. here is the latest. Boat will still idle at least 20 minutes then stall out. Usually as just moments again, it a hard restart and then it will idle perfectly for another 20 minutes or so... then stutter and stall again. Here are the steps taken so far New electric fuel pump New fuel...

Engine cutting out and quickly recovering.

I have a 1996 330 Sundancer with twin 7.4 V Drives. The other night my port engine was dropping out about every 5 to 10 seconds and then quickly recovering. I brought the boat in and changed the fuel filter. Same issue. I swapped the coils. Same issue. I then changed the fuel pump. The boat...

12v television draw on twin deep cycle.

I wouldn't plan on having it on all night, but I could never rule that out. The only other draw I would imagine would be the 12 volt refrigerator. I think in the worst case scenario if it drains the battery, I should be able to use the generator and the converter to charge the port batteries...

12v television draw on twin deep cycle.

If I run a 32 inch LED television overnight on the two deep cycle house batteries, would I have a problem starting my port engine the next morning? Any thoughts? I'm thinking to replace my 120 v television with a 12v so I don't have to run the generator overnight. Or would I be better off...

    Official 330 Sundancer Thread

Can anyone give me the dimensions for the stock rectangular fiberglass cockpit table for a 1996 330 Sundancer? This would be the table that stores underneath the aft bench seat. I'm quite a distance from my boat right now and I'm looking to fabricate a new table but I want to make sure it'll fit...

    330 sundancer table dimensions

1996 330.. I'm trying to get the dimensions for the cockpit table. The rectangular, fiberglass one that stores underneath the aft bench seat. I'm fabricating a new table and don't have access to the boat. Thanks for any info. I believe it would be the same for any 1995 to 1999

1996 330 sundancer. Analog to digital conversion for MFD's

Hello all. I have a 96 330 Sundancer outfitted with a Seatalk backbone. Connected to the backbone I have a Raymarine I70s, a Raymarine e7, and a Raymarine e7d. The I70s and both MFD's will currently receive and display GPS and transducer data only. Question is... How do I tie in the other...

Running cockpit fridge on house batteries.

I'm on shore power 90% of the time, so I think that's my answer. Keep it on 120v power at the dock or on genny, and install a relay with the power to the coil paralleled off the 120v so the coil power drops out when disconnected and will then provide 120v power from the battery and inverter.

Running cockpit fridge on house batteries.

I installed a smad 120v/12v Smad fridge... but it uses "absorption" refrigeration without a compressor. Under the black canvas throughout the summer, it can't keep up with the ambient temperatures.

Running cockpit fridge on house batteries.

I removed the ice maker in the cockpit that was not functioning on my Sundancer. I'm replacing it with a mini fridge that draws 1.5 amps at 120 volts. (180W) My plan is to bring a line up from the house batteries that are in parallel and feed a AC inverter to run the refrigerator on 120 volts...

    7.4 thermostat and housing question....

Thank you. That is the way I re-installed. But, won't the closed thermostat affect the readings on the sensors though before the tstats opens?

    7.4 thermostat and housing question....

Tstats are 160. Maybe I have the spacer because its closed loop cooling? The flow splits at the cap to go to each manifold.

    7.4 thermostat and housing question....

Hello all.... I replaced my manifolds and risers on my fully closed loop system and while I was working, decided to check out another possible issue. The temp gauges always read cool, so I thought maybe there were no thermostats installed. Before I checked, I purchased 2 new thermostats and 2...

    Cooling question

I purchased the boat from a friend. He said he did manifolds and elbows 5 years ago. I think I'll know a lot more after I pull it all apart. The other thing I have to look into is why both engines only ran at a max of about 140° and even cooler when the water temps went down at the end of the...

If north on NJ, when do you put your boat in the water?

Down in Toms River at my marina they say April 1, but I try to get everything done asap in the offseason depending on the weather. I'm usually in around the 3rd week in March and out the last week of Nov.
