    Bump button for outdrive

I had suggested the bump button so it was incumbent upon me to identify a resulting starting issue.

    Bump button for outdrive

Thank you. Down to 2 volts and a year old. I'll have the Marina heft a new on if it seems weak. Glad to have found the issue. Chinese manufacturing is different from ours

    Bump button for outdrive

Danger: The red illuminated light on my bump button depleted the battery. I thought it was an innocuous little LED. I removed the light leaving the button in place. The new battery maintainer is a NoCo Genius with automatic desulphating. I'm no genius but the warning light alerted me to an...

    New boat, comments?

There's another 220SD at a local lake with a new long block for a good price. Owner has a small marine shop and seems to specialize in rebuilding neglected and freeze damaged boats. I liked him but his 1 year guarantee is not compelling. The boat needs a shake down cruise of substantial...

    Long winter at the range

Help! I cleaned Susan's P320XComp Macro but it randomly failed to feed and I am to blame. It is unfair. Beyond the barrel, oiling the slide rails and meticulous carbon removal, I brushed the carbon off the tops of the followers on her four 17 rd mags pretty much for looks. At the range she is...

    New boat, comments?

Rock Harbor has all these insanely priced displacement deckboats owned by club members/the club whose Code depreciation may have been deductible. If they don't have a fire, they will need to have an auction to realize the final losses. I'll keep my eye on them as my neighbor's Antares 7 with the...

    New boat, comments?

Rock Harbor has an inventory of boats I haven't seen before. I asked the sales guy over the phone if there were a rich benefactor. No, it was established as a sales outlet for their 7 boat clubs around the country, not that I could Google any in its name. They have acreage for a storage yard but...

    Sundeck EIM Replacement Video

I'm seeing these on used boats and wonder about the switches. Waterproof toggles have black rubber boots, possibly Mercruiser's desire to avoid in using the EIM. The add-on boots fall off. You could fill up the socket with silicone brake grease. Otherwise, you should tether the boat like a...

    New boat, comments?

They sell them at a new unaffiliated dealer in Woodinville, WA named Rock Harbor. Near me, I will go by. I suspect it is a pop-up by a Msft millionaire. They are our zombies, useless at anything but math. They would like to start a new business, are motivated, generally overweight. Some guy...

    New boat, comments?

The French company Benateau is listing these on Craigslist for $77,500 with a 200hp Suzuki. These deck boats are only the lower half of a real boat, Nonetheless, I had a 140 Suzuki and it pulled like a 2 stroke with an extra reduction gear. Maybe I should track down the owners of the Antares 7...

    Long winter at the range

Pistols generally don't have adjustable elevation. I bought the Walther because it came with 3 front sights. I installed the shortest to raise the impact point. Any confusion above was grammatical. The posts are not sights but are there to support the sighted in white dots. I learned many years...

    Long winter at the range

Your parents had a hitch on their hearse so I assume they were morticians who kept bodies on ice around the house. I would have worried about reanimation. Embalming fluid is formaldehyde, an excellent solvent and cleaning agent. Or maybe it was just an Animal House rig. I would definitely go for...

    Long winter at the range

Today, I was having excellent results with the TH-9 at Paine Field range and talked to the counter people. I said I was lining up the three dots and overlaying the center on the target, like Sig advises. They told me they train new shooters to work off the line established by the tops of the...

    Long winter at the range

I did go to a synthetic gun oil out of an excess of caution. The yellow crust may be the residue in this hot gun. In the future, I will minimize oiling and uses a hollow needle type applicator say for the slide rails. Our favorite range's version of hospitality comes in an oil can.

Least I don't use embalming fluid. How did you address the domestic zombie menace?

    Long winter at the range

I grew up with a Colt Woodsman .22 but gave it up. Later, I thought I would get into guns as Susan is a long time NRA member. Favoring a cheap gun, I bought a Taurus TX-22 but Susan said it was not a real gun. I eventually got to two full size 9mm pistols to put us on the same footing on the...

    New boat, comments?

I did find that bolt on tongue hinges are cheap and apparently safe. $300 at a good trailer shop with long safety chains extending back to the boat side of the tongue. Slalom skiers cut through the wake. I took Susan down to a private water ski lake for instructions on "cutting." After falling...

    New boat, comments?

We are water skiers, older and perhaps less able but we want a boat that gets on the plane instantly and has no wake. The present Select 200 with 305 mpi and 17'' prop does a good job. Bigger is a negative. Downpitching the Bravo 3 will be an issue but I see 18" props are available. This is a...

Thank you. Your opinion is valued. Adding a folding tongue may be possible for about $300. How recent a 220SD will still have a porta-potti? 2012? My 50' frontage parking is shared with a 2 car drive. A 5.7 Bravo 3 would do.

I like to work on it. Meanwhile I found out that the Sundeck 220 has a sometimes plumbed portapotti until 2007 or so. I will look at these and consider another winter hobby. (See "Long Winter on Range") Just using things without disassembling at least once seems odd.
