    2004 Mercruiser 4.3l (Gen+) #0W011342 stall when warmed up

Yes, I agree. I am investigating how I can safely and permanently have one plumbed into the line.

    2004 Mercruiser 4.3l (Gen+) #0W011342 stall when warmed up

The root cause was a failing oil pressure safety switch (<1yr old) that intermittently/occasionally worked correctly. The part was replaced late last year with a genuine Mercury part from the local dealer. Confirmed by shorting the connector to bypass the switch and energize the fuel pump with...

    2004 Mercruiser 4.3l (Gen+) #0W011342 stall when warmed up

And I've pulled the barb with the check valve on the tank fitting, which also appears to be in good order. Not stuck or gummed up etc.

    2004 Mercruiser 4.3l (Gen+) #0W011342 stall when warmed up

Thanks, yes, but without the 91-18078 on hand or something to rig up from parts and hose, it isn't going to happen on the boat. I pulled the pump and will test it on the bench tomorrow.

    2004 Mercruiser 4.3l (Gen+) #0W011342 stall when warmed up

you guys are killing me ;-) yes, I know air/fuel/spark = boom. For grins, I took flame arrestor off and squirted carb cleaner into the barrel(s) when the stall occurs which made the engine run for a few seconds longer depending on how great my manual fuel injector timing was. In other words...

Please read what I wrote again and watch the video. This isn’t about first startup after winter or a fuel issue.

    2004 Mercruiser 4.3l (Gen+) #0W011342 stall when warmed up

Hey guys, I have been chasing a gremlin since the end of last season and could use a pointer or two for the cause of this issue. Going to try to give you as much info as I can, including a video of two occurrences. First time of the season that I started the boat today. It would not fire...

2006 185 Sport swim platform struts

I weigh more and haven’t had issues with the ladder on our 04 185 whatever that is worth. They appear to be pretty strong.

fuel gauge fitting in front of carb

Has anyone tried to place a low pressure fuel gauge inline in front of the carb inlet? I have a fluid dampened 1/8 npt gauge on hand. And I’m trying to work out if I can fit it inline with the factory fuel line assembly from the low pressure pump without mutilating the assembly or if I need to...

engine stalls at any rpm shortly after start

Fixed! (I think) Found a local source for the low oil pressure switch (87-864252A01) and replaced the switch just now and test ran the engine. Running fabulously! Let's hope this works at the dock as well as it does in my driveway! To recap, what is happening is that the fuel pump is turned on...

engine stalls at any rpm shortly after start

Thanks, yes, 150 hours, previous owner garaged and babied this boat until it became ours 2.5 yrs ago. 2bbl and looks like Mercarb(?) when comparing the serial # to parts diagram. I pulled the strainer basket (4) out of the carb fuel port. Perfectly clean, no staining. No varnish on spring...

engine stalls at any rpm shortly after start

‘04 185 Sport with 4.3 carb tks, serial 0W011342. Boat only has ~150 hours on it. Hoping somebody can help me with diagnosis and has seen this before. At the end of the last season, engine stalled on me at full song. Cranked but no start for a few minutes without stalling almost immediately...
