I have a 2007 40MY and love it. It handles well and moves at about 30MPH at about 2800 RPMS, it has Cummins 425's and is fairly fuel efficent. As to the A/C in the cockpit, I can only say this past August it was 105 degrees and the cockpit was comfortable.
