Thank you.
I'll start checking the water flow. I already replaced the impeller. I saw coolant dropping slowly out of the heat exchanger, but while hot the tank was reading full. While off the indicator tank was empty for that engine, though the other engine had enough coolant to read "low". I...
So a little update on my saga...
I replaced the belts (which is a story in itself, but it's done). The boat ran under full power for 4+ hours with no issues whatsoever. I scheduled a trip and 2 hours into the trip the engine pitch changed and that same engine started overheating. I throttled it...
Part number from the old one is 036-6775 DF 174:B7
Part number on the new one is 036-6775 DF 234:B2
I don't think the last bit of the part number makes a difference. They seem identical, but the new one is not going on. I am supposed to get it around the flywheel, pump pulley and tension...
So it was the belt for the coolant pump. Found the broken one...
Here's the kicker... I had belts on the boat (from the previous owner) and tried to install them. I removed a cover (from the alternator?), removed the flywheel from the engine, took off the belt for the alternator(?) by pivoting...
The sandbar was last year. Everything has been vacuumed and it ran fine after the fuel issue was sorted out. Sea strainers are fine. Nothing in the heat exchanger.
I considered belts, but if water is shooting out okay doesn't that mean that the pump is all good?
I've got a starboard engine that overheats on a '99 370 at over 2000 rpm. Seems fine on idle.
I dove under and couldn't find anything clogging the intake. Sea strainers are clear.
I replaced the impeller, which seemed fine.
Today I replaced the thermostat and checked the heat exchange. Heat...
I just got my first boat, a '99 370 Sundancer. I found it with Cat 3116 diesels, but I need help with them.
I have one engine that's running a little higher, 190deg instead of 150-160deg with the other one. And the other engine is running slightly higher oil pressure. Someone mentioned that it...
