I discovered and read an article the other day regarding Mercruiser changing the design of their elbows over the years and that the design change(s) have contributed to reversion. Specifically, the article says a vacuum break was first modified and then eliminated.
Anybody aware of this? I have...
I have twin 2001 5.7 TBI B III that at the beginning of the season the port engine had a surge and stall condition from start up. Advancing the throttle Above 1000 rpm or so the surging and stalling stopped.
I moved the IAC from the SB engine to the port engine and the problem continued on the...
I am doing some research for a friend that has a 2000 310 SD with twin 350 MPI Inboards.
Do theses engines have the CF3?
Hope all the folks in the Southeast are above water..
Thanks.

Hi, I am working on a little problem and any input is appreciated.

After a few minutes and at 170* the port engine begins surging and dies. Any thing above idle and NO problems. I bought a new IAC from Autozone and put it on the SB...
I have 3 Mercruiser 5.0/5.7 used exhaust manifolds for sale. $100 each. They are freshwater use only and in very good condition. They came off my 01 Sundancer with 400hrs located in Lake Michigan.
I brought them down to Merritt Island FL in NOV. to sell.
While shipping them is probably cost...
So I have a drip, 1 per 5 seconds.
2001 290 Sundancer, twin 5.7 EFI, Bravo 3, 450 hrs and always fresh water.
The drip is on the port engine/outdrive and looking under the engine appears to be just port of the centerline of the engine and dripping down the inside of the transom on to cables...

I looked at an 87 390 EC with GM 7.4 gas engines.
It may need an oil pan on the SB engine.
Looking for tips, especially if there is sufficient clearance to change the oil pan without pulling the engine.
And, if it is necessary to lift the engine can it be separated from the trans and then...

I inspected a the exhaust manifolds on both engines and found...
As many of you begin the boating season go prepared with masks, gloves, etc.
The initial engine start may may result in coughs and backfires (aka sneezes) so please be safe because 14 more days away from the boat only serves to lengthen the anxiety.
Does anyone know the exact measurements of a 1984 and 1988 340 Sundancer as measured from the center of the rub rail at the bow to the center of the rub rail at the transom.
I ask because a marina in Florida I am considering requires the vessel to be a minimum of 35 feet, with not much under...
The weather in Northern Michigan has been absolutely perfect since the end of August and the fuel level indication on my boat has went down by a half. I fueled up August 31st, no fuel in bilge or sheen around the boat while in slip.
How can the indication be verified or what should I look for?
