Sounds like interference between the remote and the receiver. Try changing the battery in the remote and the pair it. There should be a breaker for the cablemaster on the main panel in the ER.

Did you have to buy a new bracket where it attaches to the ram? The oem unit would spin when at bottom or top so you can align the holes. This one does not seem to have that feature

I’m not sure if this answers your question but there is a rocker switch on the panel that will show the voltage of the other battery. Hope this helps
