I have a Promariner-two of them actually-which I haven't installed as I'm not sure I need to yet.
Why do you think that yours is bad? They're pretty simple devices and can be tested easily.
I have a 1995 290 and had the same "tiny" hole in the same location. I managed to snake both a cable for radar to the arch and coax from a new VHF antenna back down through the same hole. It took a LOT of effort-even with lubing the cables-to get them through alongside the factory navy and arch...
Before condemning the entire hose use a GOOD flare nut wrench (7/16?) and try to tighten that fitting. I would back it off a hair before re tightening. From the picture it like it's leaking where it seals on the outdrive flare.
You always have the option to replace he hose which is more...
I went the opposite; I made significantly more money when I was younger...but didn't have the time for most of my projects. Now I have the time but out of money and I'm not even retired. Go figure...
I love that pad! That's one thing my boat doesn't have and would be nice.
I bought this boat as I could not pass up the deal! I figured even if the boat was complete junk-it wasn't- that the trailer alone would be worth somewhere n'ear the purchase price. The prior original owner simply had enough of large repair bills even if caused more by lack of use than...
I'm not sure what a Kohler SM is but, if it currently runs now with the choke the way it is then yes, you can manually choke it to start it. The only issue you might have is the pull off. That rubber hose on the housing connects to a pull off piston which might be frozen in its' bore. If...
UNDER $5k. Of course this was three years ago pre Covid. Everything worked except the low hours starboard engine was locked up tight due to water injestion. A local $75.00 S10 engine with marine parts swapped over solved that problem! That one pulls stronger than the low hours 2011...
I don't have the patience these days but I have the space, equipment and know how to repair it. I currently need to pull the port engine and remove the gimbal housing to track down a solid leak. I'm pretty sure that it's from the lower two studs on the housing. I have a clean used housing to...
That's how I ended up with my 1995; original owner twin 4.3's- replaced In 2011 along with gimbal housings- generator, windless, a/c, hot water, new canvas and 2004 trailer. He bought the boat new in 1995 and put another $60k into it over the years.
That's what I thought, too! Alas, there were no other perks to my order... As I understand it, these were only made for this application and have been out of production for quite awhile; what's out there is all there is. Not very long ago these kits were priced around $135.00. If this isn't...
Yes Sir. A Kawasaki carb for that engine will be the same and there are no issues with bolting it up to the original spark arrestor! Rebuild kits are also available from Kawasaki- much cheaper than Kohler- and the only thing which seems to be an issue on these carbs, other than old gas and...
