On mine the hatch lift also has a breaker on the aft EIM. Mine is on the left wall in the engine compartment next to the battery charger. Might also test the transom door safety switch to see if it's working.

I have a spare Neutral Switch, just haven't put it on. I kind of thought that since the issue was intermittent it wouldn't be the switch. I guess the old switch could be flaky so I'll put it on and test the old one.

On my Kohler 5E it's just a push of "mode" and then a single push of start button. Everything is automatic. Just make sure the switch on the generator is in auto. After running the blowers as Groucho said.
