Finally got my new tank built. Maybe I can get to the lake before it gets too cold. Had a friend of my dads build it. He used stainless steel instead of aluminum. It’s definitely heavier than the original. But it should last for a long time.
I finally got my tank out. Ended up
Pulling it up through the floor in the cabin. It has a hole in it where one of the straps was rubbing it. Actually a screw that was holding the strap down came loose and backed out. So I’m getting one made locally. Hopefully won’t break the bank.
Yes. There is fuel filling up the engine compartment. I haven’t had the boat very long. First time I took it out I only put 30 gallons in it and didn’t see any issues. This time I was going to fill it up completely. Put 56 gallons in it and it started leaking out the drain plug at the rear of...
Thanks for the info. I love working on my own stuff, and was expecting things to be broken considering the age of the boat. I gave 5 grand for it, including the trailer. So I knew it probably needed some work. I usually spend a lot of time on the internet researching things to try and figure it...
Thanks. I’ve done several repairs since I’ve bought it. But just kind of throwing my hands up at this one lol. Had it on the water for one weekend and this happens lol
New to the boating scene. Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas on how to pull or fix my leaking gas tank? It’s a 1980 270 sedan bridge, and I don’t see where it’s leaking from. It’s not the inlet hose or sending unit, I can see those spots. But it’s definitely leaking. Thanks
The controls for the spotlight are just below these. I’m not sure if they are associated with the light. I’ve flipped them several times and haven’t heard or noticed anything. Never had a boat like this, only a flat bottom for fishing lol. So I’m learning as I go. Thanks for the info.
can anyone tell me what these toggle switches are for? The two just to the right of the wheel. I’ve been able to figure everything else out but these. Thanks in advance.
Thanks. I didn’t get a chance to put it in the water before purchase. It was still winterized when I was looking at it. The previous owner said it was ready for the water, so I took his word on it. And I thought it was a good deal, even if it needed some work. Which it does lol. I’m currently...
Hey guys. Just bought my first boat. 1980 270 sedan bridge with twin 470’s. Actually had it about a month. Any helpful advice and knowledge about this boat is more than welcomed lol. I really excited about owning a Sea Ray. Got it so me and my kids can spend the summer at the lake.
