Mainstream is spot on in all respects. The only two things I would add is if you soften the water into the heater your maintenance will be greatly reduced, I have soft water and like the shoe maker with no shoes I waited 6 years to de scale. The mfg rec is six months to a year and my unit was...
You can't legally convert a water heater except in a mobil. They are labeled for nat gas or lp gas only. But All the major mfg make high recovery units the only thing you need to be concerned with is the gas pipe sizing. And yes this is a good alternative.
The heaters I use are Rinnai. My cost on a 9 gpm is about 1300.00, the venting for your install is about another 150.00. If you can exit your vent through a wall your outlet must terminate min of 4' bellow or horizontally from, nor less then 1' above any door, openable window, or gravity air...
Your not going to save any money on gas usage. You will have a pretty much endless supply of hot water. In a retrofit install it can become costly depending upon venting legnth and how close your gas source is. An average tank type water heater is about 36000 btu, one cubic foot of nat gas...
I stand corrected. Omc used both the ford and chevy bigblocks. Parts for the king cobra are rare and really cost. If I knew what I know now when I purched my boat I would have looked for another one with a merc and a 454. You can get lots of stuff for the regular small block cobra plus sei...
That screw attaches to a female threaded plate inside of the out drive. It doesn't show it in the omc service manual or the parts cataloge. There is supposed to be a cobra badge covering it so you don't remove it. With that said, your badge was probably missing, exposing the screw head, so you...
The water pump is real easy to check on a cobra drive. It's under the plastic cover, held on by three bolts on the upper. 200 is too hot, but you should only be at idle
The dip stick does not go the the bottom of the pan. Crack the oil drain plug and see what you have. Water will make the oil level appear to rise. Oil floats on water. The water is in the bottom of the pan. Sorry.
