    Warning Tone

A couple of days ago I noticed a warning tone and the lights on the systems monitor panel as seen below. The engines hadn't been run for a few days and the bilge pump works just fine. I eneded up disconnecting the connector at the back of the panel just to silence the warning tone. Thoughts on...

    Official 330 Sundancer Thread

Yup, we made a left turn to be sure at the point I was bringing the engine speed up on both engines. The tach is okay and the synch was definitely showing a lack of engine speed to the port side. When in neutral I can get the engine to run up smooth without any issue to 3k and beyond.

    Official 330 Sundancer Thread

We recently got our 330DA back to running condition and took her out for a test drive. We were able to idle through the canals to the open water of Tampa Bay where I pushed the throttles ever so gently to 2k rpm and all was fine. When I went to push a bit faster I saw that the starboard engine...

    Sunset Cruise

Last night's sunset cruise with The Better 9/10ths, our son, Jake and his friend, Matt. Rounding up the crew was Beau, our mutt. It is the time of year when the manatee seek warmer water so we have to glide along at a no wake speed. For us that is about 3.3 knots or 3.8 mph. We saw five the...

    Garmin or tablet

What can I say that most everyone else here has already said? I too think the MFD (multi-function display) is the way to go, but, yes, they can be costly. I bought the one we had on our sailboat off of a Craigslist seller. I was able to connect it to the battery of my truck to ensure it...

    7.4L MPI Risers & Manifolds

Thanks for confirming that for me. I had read it on another forum but wanted to be sure.

    7.4L MPI Risers & Manifolds

Replacing these (finally) and need to know a couple of things. For the risers, do I need any gasket sealant for those gaskets? Second, what are the torque specs for the manifold and riser bolts?

Anyone live aboard in Florida on their Sea Ray?

Yeah, we pay more for insurance down here, that's for sure!

Anyone live aboard in Florida on their Sea Ray?

Ours was a temporary solution that would only be in effect until we found the home we wanted to buy with a salt water canal and a dock. We found it faster than planned! If it were to be a long run, we would have rented a condo on the water with a slip.

Anyone live aboard in Florida on their Sea Ray?

We were at Regatta Point Marina on the Manatee River in Palmetto where the cost was $17.50/ft plus electric for each month. We were looking at around $700 all in for our 330. The marina includes use of the laundry, exercise and lounge areas, has free wi-fi and cable. Each slip has a pump out...

    Advice pls

JP, We also have the 97 330 with twin 7.4L MPI engines. We also like to cruise between 2800 and 3000 RPM which decreases our burn rate to about 25-27 GPH and it is a comfortable ride and still gives us good maneuverability on the water. I just cannot imagine what life on the water would be...

    Grinding noise

Sounds like you may have dodged a bullet here. I would repeat the scenario of heading out to the open water and listed closely to everything. Get her out in the open and slowly increase RPMs and see what happens.

Does anyone like showering in their wet head?

Same for us in our 330DA; a squeegee and a chamois do the trick.

    Port side engine issue

They tend to break down over time and stop carrying as much voltage to the plugs. Wires and plugs are some of the most overlooked items when you have issues with an engine.

5.7L Mercruiser water in #5 piston

It could be a blown head gasket. It is a pain in the butt, but I would pop it off and investigate.

    Mechanic says to whaa?

As an avid motorcyclist for many years, I can say that the mechanic is correct about a sticking cable, though a bit if WD40 down the cable first is the normal remedy for freeing one up. That said, it really doesn't account for the sputtering engine as the cable is still only a year old. It...
