ok this is just a rant about the entire cool fuel 2 system...
honestly could they have found a dumber location? unless you are about 5'5" tall and under 200lbs (so pretty much no boater ive ever meet) you cant get to it. really... who thought putting a fuel pump and regulator under the damn...
made a trip about 3 hours south last weekend, ran flawless down there crusing around 36-3800rpm all the way.
next day went out for a nice cruise and noticed the oil pressure starting to drop. go back to the dock and checked the oil level and she was about off the bottom of the dip stick...
what do you guys check outside the normal stuff like fluid levels before you guys go on a longer trip?
figured the normal stuff
fuel topped off
gear oil topped off
trim tabs
motor oil
empty the bathroom
have a spare bilge pump on the boat and 2 spare float switches.
anything im overlooking?

past owner neglected to fix the threaded holes for the hydraulic zincs, end result is now they are past the point i can heli-coil them. thinking about using a 2 part JB marine epoxy and "gluing" in 2 10-32 stainless studs and using lock nuts and locktite to try to slow down the corrosion...
this might get a bit long winded but worth it if you need injectors cleaned
so we recently picked up a 1998 270 SE that the last owner had been going through a divorce and life in general, but no longer had time or desire to take the boat out. had been sitting for 2 or 3 year with some fuel in...
does anyone know if they ever made a factory extended platform the the 1998 270 SE? i found an aftermarket setup from swimplatforms.com would really like to find one of the original ones if they made them
