    Thank You

I want to take a minute and thank everyone for their help and sharing their knowledge. I recently came across a Chris Craft Corinthian 380 I could not pass up. Giving up the Sea Ray was part of the deal so I guess I am moving over to the Trawler forum. I hope folks there are as friendly. Calm...

    Wiring Question

This is really a shot in the dark. I decided to replace the switches on my 1983 270. When I pulled the panel, I found 2 wires not connected, but all switches have wires (granted some switches have multi-wires). The 2 wires not connect are factory wires and are numbered - 2 and 14. I have...

    Things I have learned today

As the task of buffing and polishing my boat is winding down, I have learn I don't like the job!! I have now moved on to stripping. In just my 2nd day of stripping I have learned 3 things: 1. Stripping isn't as easy as it looks. 2. it's hard to make a straight line go in a curved direction. 3...

    Some Advise

Before I get to my question, I just want to say. Whatever Professional Buffers charge, is worth every dime of it!! :) -- This buffing job is kicking my butt. I like what I am seeing and I know it will be worth the effort once I finish. When I started, I wanted the gel-coat as smooth as a...

    Slow progress

This is my first time buffing a boat. I must admit, I like what i'm seeing. But, it is kicking my arse :) -- Thank goodness the oxidation isn't really bad. It's going to take a while to finish. As much as I want it done, I don't really have a time frame. I guess it will be finished when it's...

    Update --- Sort of

I have finally finished the de-stripping project - Also, I have settled on a name for this old girl -- HEART ATTACK -- I feel it's only appropriate, since I just recently had a heart attack !!! I am lucky in the fact it wasn't any worst than it was. they inserted 1 stint and told me I had 80%...

    Rotation

As I climb around this boat seeing what I have and attempting to learn as much as I can about the varies systems, I am curious. How do I determine the rotation of my Mercruiser sterndrives? More specially, how do i determine if one is counter rotating? Both props appear to be the same.

    Lesson on Outdrives

How do i determine what series of outdrives I have? They are Mercruisers, but I can't find anything showing if they are Alpha, gen1 gen2 -- or Bravos etc. Also, is there a difference between the Port and Starboard? Thanks

    New Sea Ray owner

I did an introduction in another forum, but given the year of my boats, I am probable better suited for this forum. My name is Terry (called Socks by many- long story, ask me sometimes and I will explain) I live in Alabama. I recently purchased a 1983 270 Sundancer. Cosmetically she's in...

    Hell-o from Alabama

Hello fellow boaters. Name here is Terry ---- most call me Socks (ask sometime and I'll explain) I just recently bought a 1983 270 Sundancer. Cosmetically the boat is in remarkable good condition. All the wood trim, headliner, carpet, and upholstery in the cabin is far better than I would...
