    ..another project to enjoy~

I have learned it is no fun docking an inboard twinscrew with only one engine running...sigh~ It's possible, but tough. Slow is way to fast. Now the engine that I relied on to get me home is making noise. Always something.

Aft cockpit seating 300 Weekender 1988

I have the three cushions for the aft seat, but I do not have the base. I would like to build the seat base close to OEM. If anyone has pictures and dimensions of the original seat base please contact me. Thanks, Joe

    ..another project to enjoy~

I am hoping to find someone that can post pics of the aft seating support frame on my 300. I have the three cushions which are in great shape, but the frame is missing. I'd like to build a frame to OEM specs, so dimensions would be great. Thanks.

Sounds good, Jeff. I spent quite a bit of time watching videos how to maneuver a twinscrew. My real problem is when my port engine stalls out at idle in gear...ugh....then it's a nightmare. Sometimes I don't realize it until its to late. Watching the dock and at the same time the instruments at...

Thanks JVM, I've had a few boats before her, and one of my favorites was an '84 Amberjack. I told myself, "If only the cabin had a booth style table where we can play cards", and wouldn't you know, this 300 came up. Both boats have huge cockpits, comfortable helms, and a great ride. I'm finding...

    1988 300 Weekender question.

I'm talking to this guy I work with. He's 6'4", skinny as a rail...and has loooong arms. He's willing to give it a shot. I might have to hold his ankles to lift him out. Someone at the marina suggested sheets of plastic with Vaseline to help you slide out...ugh. Either that or pull the left...

    1988 300 Weekender question.

… Naw, SBW, that's the shower sump pump, which is fairly easy to replace. The Bilge pump I'm talking about is located in between the forward end of the engines, pretty much inline with the alternator/water pump belts, but WAY down. I just can't reach it, especially with two hands, to remove the...

    1988 300 Weekender question.

Has anyone replaced the foreword bilge pump on an old 300 weekender with twin 350's? I have a new OEM (Rule)replacement so I will leave the original base mounted, but HOW do you reach down there to splice the two wires and install the hose?? Thanks, Joe

    300 weekender project

Very nice job on the redo, Rdela. I'm about to tackle the cockpit panels on my 300 soon. I am impressed on how your front inserts with cup holders look! Where did you find them? Ya, and the back to backs where uncomfortable. I lowered mine approx. 5" which made a huge difference.

    Hey Tabman

I agree, MM. From what I read, Tabman was the go-to guy for any questions concerning Bennett trim tabs. Sorry to hear of his passing, Jim G.

    Hey Tabman

Hi Tabman, I just got off the phone with one of Bennetts representatives. I asked for a free o-ring replacement kit for my standard style single cylinder trim tabs (two total). This is what I know. Last fall my 30' Sea Ray would not level out. The port side piston was not working properly. At...

I just wrote to a tarp shop in Ashland today, off of T.R. 1056, north of Ashland. I'd appreciate the card from Gideon also. Thanks

    300 weekender

I already have a quote from Erbs in PA.. They gave me an option of WeatherMax or Sunbrella, which was nice. I was also going to snail mail an Amish shop in Ashland for an estimate. Duckhead, was the Amish shop you used in Ohio near Ashland? It would be a little closer drive for me. Thanks
