My 2006 260 DA. Conversion to thru hull water intake using seacock head dump. Also my flush system getting extra strainer cap and attaching PVC. For a non forced garden hose fill. Overflow goes out to hatch gutter. Solved my overheat problem at high rpm.
The boat is on trailer while flushing. I figured the impeller would stop any water from going past it when the engine is not running. But yes I have pretty strong pressure from the garden hose, so I didnt want to put that pressure in a sealed strainer. I ordered the strainer cap with garden...
I have changed my water intake to a thru hull. My question is my concern while flushing engine and hooking a water hose to a flush cap on top of strainer. Is the sealed water pressure when engine not running bad for impeller or engine? Will
I guess all I need now is too figure out what size strainer and hoses, ball valves, reducers? To make all this happen using the existing discharge seacock for the through hull. Does anyone have pics of their mod? Will
After talking to my mechanic I'm thinking instead of making a new through hull seacock, I can use the one for the head pump out (I dont use it anyway because the pump is inop). Except it will need a scoop screen under the boat. Will
My mechanic thinks you should keep the water intake through outdrive for cooling. I wish I could get more opinions on this? I dont want to go through hull and have some damage happening to drive. Will
Is that what size the hose is from transom to impeller 1 1/4? Its red and has a junction in the middle. And would I look for a strainer that size if I go through hull? Was also thinking a tee to draw water from drive and through hull. That way I can flush as normal. Will
The boat is in shop now getting new impeller pump, manifolds and risers. But I have to decide about the water hose intake through transom. The pic shows the bolts gone on water housing inside boat. It may be a whole days work to cut that off and do the outside work removing drive to install that...
Was even thinking to use the existing seacock for the head discharge, since I dont use it the pump is bad. But not sure since it's just a big hole with no screen. Of course I would install a strainer inside before water going to the impeller. Will
I have a 2006 DA 6.2mpi and bravo 3 drive. I'm wondering if the intake of water through drive is needed for cooling drive? Was thinking of making the intake through hull, then cutting section of hose out between transom and drive to let water flow freely through drive, and maybe installing a...
That was it, one of the two wires came apart from a connector going to that lock out switch. Works fine now. Thanks for pointing that out about that door lock out. Will
Thanks I had no idea about the lock out. One time I was lifting the hatch with the toggle, and after a few inches I saw the door was closed. I thought wow I better watch that, it would cause damage. So the previous owner must have disabled the lockout. When I am back home I will check it out...
Yes door open. It will operate with transom door closed but you would break it in a bind when you lifted the hatch. There is no lock out switch.
The lift was kind of intermittent then quit altogether. I had to go through the under seat access and disconnect the rod, and manually mussel it open...
2006 260DA Sundancer 6.2
No power to Engine lift hatch.
Anyone know where exactly to look for the problem? Fuse good, toggle switch has power and works fine, but getting no power to the motor that lifts the hatch. Thanks for any help, Will
I was told by a marine max mechanic that the boat has aftermarket risers and that they are prone to pitting and leaking, possibly destroying the engine. That's now a worry too. The boat is so heavy I hardly felt it bury the outdrive. The props are not a scratch but the nice black paint is really...
I have a 2006 260DA with a 6.2 and bravo 3. Some shallow areas at low tide in the st. Lucie inlet. Even though trying to be careful, I did it, buried the outdrive in mud/sand/shell. I'm hoping I dodged a bullet but not sure. It overheated. I was 10 minutes from dock so watched temp not get...
Thanks for the help. I did take it slow getting back to the dock thinking I may go dead in the water any minute. So I really dont know if power was reduced. It did ring a bell what you said, when I bought the boat, the broker had some trouble with it not getting full power. So to get it sold to...
Maybe someone can save me some money and help me ID an alarm issue. I have a 2006 260. The other day the check engine mssge triggered and the alarm was 2 beeps with a long delay, continued. No performance problem noticed. I checked all fluids okay. No low fuel. But I didn't check fuel water...
Can someone tell me the best way to remove gas from tank? Not sure how much is in there, and I want to put in fresh anyway. Dont know how accurate gauge is, boat is fairly new to me. I tried to put hose down filler neck but think there must be a screen or something stopping it. Thanks Will
Where did you get that diagram? My manual does not have this. That is my panel but no instructions how to use it. I turn key all the way while holding either or both black buttons and it doesn't pump out. Seacock open, water pump on, head DC switch on.
